Meet Up in Tunica, MS: 3/14 - 3/17 Schedule
I'm just the messenger and one who plans to attend this event....
Dx had posted a few weeks back about a Meet Up in Tunica, MS happening this St. Patricks Day Weekend. I have been asked by Dx's partner in crime DeeDee to post the tentative schedule of events for that weekend and once again extend an invitation to each of you. Being the intelligent woman she is - she dares not venture onto this hallowed ground.
There are no vendors, no surgeons, no speakers...this is simply an opportunity for those who have had WLS, are thinking about WLS, or those just wanting to learn more to get together with a bunch of folks who have made the journey, lived to tell about it and love to share their experiences.
Here is the tentative schedule:

Blues City Cafe - Saturday Lunch (optional)
Gibson Guitar Factory Tour - Saturday Afternoon (optional)
Sun Studios Tour - Saturday Afternoon (optional)

Brunch Event – Sunday Late Morning
Perhaps Some early evening Meal Event on Sunday Night?
Beyond those, I think "Options" or "Hang out and Talk Opportunities" could make up some of the rest of the schedule.
There’s a shooting range, great golf courses, waterparks, casinos, shopping, Memphis (30 minutes away), etc…..
It’s a “Non-Convention” so no advertisers, no registrations, and just the peer to peer shared info from a bunch of old post-ops.
Whatcha Think?
Best Wishes-

Hey Mike, how's everything going. We are doing fine down here, and I'm feeling damn good! I have an appointment with my surgeon next Friday and he's going to assess me for surgery. So far, I've lost 167 pounds and all the co=morbidities are gone, if it wasn't for this pesky fistular I'd be good to go....
Best Regards,
Bob.
Bob,
It's great to hear from you - folks were beginning to look for your face on the back of milk cartons and on the wall at the entrance of Wal-Mart!
-167 pounds....congratulations on your loss. Hope your surgeon is able to address that fistula once and for all so you can get to 100% and really take advantage of your loss.
Sorry I've been off the grid for awhile - have some new initiatives at work that are kicking my ass but at the same time have been a welcomed challenge. Been on the road more than usual and working extended hours when I am home.
Keep in touch - there's a lot of folks keeping tabs on you and want to hear how you're progressing.
The story you have and lived to tell about is an amazing one!
Regards,
Cards Fan
Yep Paul - the Ribs at the Rendezvous are an absolute must if your visiting Memphis! The Peabody Ducks are on the schedule with the URL I provided but I neglected to put that into the schedule in my posting - thanks for pointing that out.
From what I've heard I believe there will be 4-6 fellas from the Men's Board and another 7 or 8 planning to attend too. Not a huge event but enough to have a great time!
I am an ex-Memphian myself - lived there in the mid-90's. To me Memphis is a great place to visit but didn't like living there. I've not been back for awhile so looking forward to it.
Sorry to say I just can't make the trip this time CF old buddy. I just have to much going on at work/home right now to take the time off. 3/15 will be my 49th B'day so I want y'all to drink one for me when all the fellas get together. Tell Elvis I said Howdy and y'all have fun.
I'll see you another day.
Regards,
Tim
