am i eating too much???
I am almost 4 weeks post op and i am on ground foods right now. But following the list i have it seems like im eating too much, does this sound right. For dinner i just had 3oz ground turkey, 1/4 cup whipped potatoe, and 1/2 cup of pears from the can no sugar added. usually its 1/4 cup of fruit and 1/4 cup of veggies but tonight i want fruit. They told me 1 cup of food is what i should be eating which is what i am. I can never finish the fruit or veggies or potatoe but i get all of the protien. What do you think???
I had RNY one day before you and am in the same boat. Even though I can eat more than the full cup at one sitting (or more), I just temper how much and stop at the 6-8 oz level.
I'm not dropping as fast as some of the other guys here, but it's steady and that's a bonus.
Good Luck.

Play hard or go home.

My doctor was more of a "eat whatever you can tolerate" kind of guy, so I didn't get much guidance from him or his staff. About 6 wks out, I read on here about people who were tracking their calories on these different websites and I went to one of them and started tracking mine. I was kinda surprised to find out that I was eating around 1800 calories per day. So I started cutting my portions until was down to between 1050 and 1200 per day. You may have to do that at some point in the future in order to get the rate of loss that you want.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
Seems like you are doing good and 1 cup seems to be the "golden chalice" for life. My doctor and nutritionist both said that I should never eat more than 1 cup of food ever again. They also told me that for the next 6 months I would only tolerate about half a cup of food at this point. At 1 year, they say I should be able to eat 1 cup with no problem. My food bible states always eat protein first, healthy vegetables next, then potatoes/pasta last. Taz
