Cracking 180....
Thanks for the birthday wishes, we had a GREAT day!
I got into work at 4 AM so I could take off at noon and spend the day with my wife. It was a beautiful 75 degrees at the beach..... we parked on Balboa Island and took the ferry across Newport Bay to the peninsula
and settled into a little joint for some "adult beverages" and a friendly game
my kind of place
after a couple belts, two games, and some jukebox music, we took a long walk on a short pier
and had some more drinkies before going to Crystal Cove for dinner
and more.... well, you know
This morning I felt like Type 7 on the chart below.....

unless you are Japanese or an Eskimo. The biggest that I have caught were four 50 lb. yellowfin tuna in Cabo San Lucs.... they was hawgs!
My fishing MO is to pretty much stick to fishing off the beach on lite tackle. I use a long, light action steelhead rod with a coffee grinder and 6 lb. test. We almost always catch fish
The best I ever did was at a remote fish camp in Baja on the Sea of Cortes. 10 good size halibut in 30 minutes - awesome
Edit: Damn I was fat back then!
took 'em to a restaurant the next night where they cooked them up like this for 5 bucks w/ homemade tortillas, rice y frijoles
Edit: here's another good Baja score - triggerfish
Super Job Baja......
The next question, have you ever caught anything thay weighed as much as you?
Have you ever caught anything that weighed as much or as more as you used to weigh?
Now, that would be a very large FART
Big D! They don't make fish that match my old weight. Whales are marine mammals and are protected
