You know we had a visitor to the board, and she had son problems... Well Baja...said lets get back to talking about *****great... So I got some questions.. these are kinda off topic, but we have tackled some serious subjects in the past. 1- How were you taught about the "Facts of Life"? (this is the serious talk...not where do babies come from) 2- Was the teaching good? 3- What was the approach you took when teaching someone the "Facts of Life'? 4- How has your teaching changed with AIDS being added to the mix....did you do it all at once or in stages.... 5-Did you teach respecting women? 6- Did you teach respecting yourself? (very interesting since we came to this board by disrespecting ourselves) 7- What is more important for you to stress, protecting the future, the importance of life, stay disease fee, obligation?

Ok lets answer my own question...I have a 19 year old Nephew.. 1- How were you taught about the "Facts of Life"? (this is the serious talk...not where do babies come from).. my dad was half drunk and slurred soemthing about rubbers... 2- Was the teaching good? not at all 3- What was the approach you took when teaching someone the "Facts of Life'? We were sitting in a resturant, and I said...."I wanna talk about your personal life 4- How has your teaching changed with AIDS being added to the mix....did you do it all at once or in stages.... AIDS has added a whole new diminsion to the topic..I hit it all at one time...he was willing to listen, and was asking questions, and being receptive...So I kept going 5-Did you teach respecting women?.. ahhh yes 6- Did you teach respecting yourself? (very interesting since we came to this board by disrespecting ourselves) ahhh yes 7- What is more important for you to stress, protecting the future, the importance of life, stay disease fee, obligation? I hit, obligation and disease free in a one two punch....really hard, I figured if you clear these 2 , the others talk care of themselves... I also hit his girl friend...different dinner..with the 2 of them....and I make offers to him, and the young guys at the gym....if you need protection...CALL ME...if you don;t have $$ for protection....CALL ME...I will get you protection

1- How were you taught about the "Facts of Life"? (this is the serious talk...not where do babies come from)  Learned it from my buddies and Playboy. Then  when I was 16 my dad asked if I "knew about girls and babies and that stuff" and I said "Yeah, so you can skip the awkard talk".

2- Was the teaching good?  Nah, but the pics were hot!!!!

3- What was the approach you took when teaching someone the "Facts of Life'?  I just sat my kids down when they hit puberty and explained how the male-female relationship worked in all phases including love, marriage, sex, consequences, STDs,etc.

4- How has your teaching changed with AIDS being added to the mix....did you do it all at once or in stages....   More emphasis on the STD aspect and how you do not really know the history of the other person

5-Did you teach respecting women?  Absolutely - after all, I am a Southern boy!
6- Did you teach respecting yourself? (very interesting since we came to this board by disrespecting ourselves) Absolutely - along with the "Do as I say" speech.

7- What is more important for you to stress, protecting the future, the importance of life, stay disease fee, obligation?  All of them as well as responsibility and accountability.

1- How were you taught about the "Facts of Life"? (this is the serious talk...not where do babies come from) Hahha.. My brothers were in their teens when I was born. I learned about this at the ripe age of 5 or so and learned about safe sex, diseases and all that stuff in sex ed class in elementary school.
2- Was the teaching good? Not really..  got freaked out the first time I had sex and thought I had her pregnant. They use too much scare tactics when teaching you about it.
3- What was the approach you took when teaching someone the "Facts of Life'? Haven't had to do this much yet. Talked with my nephew who was 18 at the time about safe sex and consequences of getting her preggie.  Also tried to counsel him as I saw the girl changing him but he had turned a deaf ear at that point. In the future I think I'll try to teach my kids to think for themselves. 4- How has your teaching changed with AIDS being added to the mix....did you do it all at once or in stages.... What's AIDS??  :)  j/k  I think the schools and TV do a fine job of teaching kids about AIDS.  I suspect I'll touch on it briefly and expound on it in later conversations. I imagine that talk about the Facts of Life should start at a relatively early age and progress as the child grows.
5-Did you teach respecting women? Absolutely. 6- Did you teach respecting yourself? (very interesting since we came to this board by disrespecting ourselves) No.... I think I still need someone to teach me this.
7- What is more important for you to stress, protecting the future, the importance of life, stay disease fee, obligation? Toss up between protecting the future and obligation. I suppose they go hand in hand.

"The Facts of Life" Don't remember how old I was, but parents had an illustrated book (intended for kids my age), with very dry, very clinical, and very incomplete explanations of the mechanics.  I read this and learned the basics. I was APPALLED that people would do such 'gross' things.  YUCK!!!   I remember thinking to myself that maybe this was what they did in 'the OLD days'.  Surely now, you don't actually have to put IT in THERE, do you?  They must use injections now, or SOMETHING, right? Needless to say, I discovered later it wasn't NEARLY so "yucky"!

Okie dokie!  I'll bite: 1.   I learned the ol' liver in a water glass trick, at the tender age of 12, from reading "Portnoy's Complaint".   I enjoyed this so much that I practically memorized "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex....", in hopes of learning new tricks! 2.   ******g A  3.   No offspring, so no one to pass on my wealth of knowledge to. 4.   Ditto! 5.   Ditto.... but that would be my number one priority  6.   Same as above...... 7.   Obligation is numero uno (serious business here) - it is the main difference between a boy and a man.

"I learned the ol' liver in a water glass trick..." I'm just wondering if this would be a good way to prevent iron deficiency...

1) I learned how the mechanics of reproduction worked from a friend of mine with older bros when I was about 5-6 years old. I had the official talk with my dad the summer between sixth and seventh grade. He told me that once I got to jr high there would be some "fast girls" who would come on to me and I'd have to be strong and say no. Lyin' sum***** I'm still waiting for a girl to come on to me. 2) Yeah I'd say so. It was pretty thorough. Both when I was a pre-schooler and during the official visit. Interestingly enough, my dad was, and is, a devout Christian but he encouraged me to jack off as often as I needed to. He kinda broke against the stereotype of Christians frowning on masturbation. He understood the problems of being young and having a full nutsack. That's the one piece of advice he gave me that I followed to the T. 3) I have daughters. Other than some rather general discussions of what a bunch of horndogs boys are and how they think about girls that I had with them, their mother handled the rest. 4) I'm assuming that my wife covered all the STD's. I've never really asked. I trust her to do what's right. 5) N/A 6) Yeah. They get hit with that pretty often. 7) We have taught our girls the Christian theory that their body is a gift from God, and there will come a time when they will share that gift with someone that God has picked out for them, and that to squander that gift on just any ol' harddick would be a mistake that could never be undone. And also tried to make them very much aware of the lifelong consequenses of an unwanted pregnancy or an uncurable STD.  It's a really ****ty world to try and raise daughters in.
