Hi, My Name Is...

Well, gentlemen, after about a week or so, I thought I'd say "hello" and lurk-no-more.

My name's Justin, I'm from Cleveland, OH...

Although I'm 25, I've been thinking about having WLS for many years.  In fact, I had an insurance plan that covered the surgery and I paid for it for months while I did the "pre-surgical regimen."  But, when I got to the end, and was ready to submit..... they told me it had been recently excluded.

But, hooray-hooray, I have new insurance that will cover it.... my insurance went active in January.  Thus far, I've had my consult, and phych eval (no, I don't like to play with fire, hear voices, or think about hurting myself).  I'll get the results back next week.  That's the last step!  Then I'll get submitted and, God willing, get approved!

This process is complex and personal and I'm go glad to have OH and especially a group of men to talk about it with... thanks for the amazing counsel so far!

I wish I could have done this at 25 instead of 42.  I never even heard of WLS until Carne Wilson had hers, and that was what, maybe 10 years ago?  When I was about 25, I think the state of the art in weight loss was Phen-Fen, and we all know how well that worked out! Congratulations, and best of luck.  It will make a tremendous difference in your life. 

Justin, welcome to the board and we look forward to helping all we can =) Make sure through the pre-op process you are working on the mental part of the food issue. surgery is just a tool... it's up to you to use it right and fix anything else :)

Hi Justin! Glad to have ya here and we look forward to you being a part of twisted little group! Best of luck with the insurance and becoming a loser.  I had lots of insurance obstacles along my journey but it is finally all worked out and things are great! Let us know whatever we can do to offer help along your journey!

Congrats man I to had to wait for the new insurance to kick in, in jan I lucked out though cause I don't have to do any of that physc stuff
