Down by crud.....

Anyone else been stricken this winter? I've been waylaid for the last four days with the creeping crud.  Woke up sick on Wednesday, and had to catch a flight to Salt Lake City - where I proceeded to make myself extremely popular by hackin' up lung butter all through the meeting.  I excused myself from the obligatory drunk-fest that evening to catch up on some much needed rest... and awoke in the morning to find that I was 90% recovered. WRONG!   By that afternoon my malady had returned with a vengence.  I spent 5 hours in the airport, as we couldn't get the earlier flight, most of which was spent in the fetal position. My wife took my temp Thursday night.... 102     Friday morning, after calling in sick, I hit a high of 103.  Today (Saturday) I am down to 100 and appear to be on the mend finally. Nasty stuff..... body aches akin to being worked over by a sledgehammer, high fever, throbbing synasis, raging headache, muddy stools, noxious farts, bed-soaking sweats, extremely "productive" coughs, and a decrease in sexual activity make this one the nastier bugs that I have encountered.

Sorry to hear you are feeling bad . I have been able to dodge all so far . Some friend of ours have not been as lucky though .It sounds like they too have had the same thing .(The whole fam )   I guess it Started with their two boys and now them too .Sounds like the same thing ; maybe ? You need to really get a fix on that bad boy!  the decrease in sexual activity is a killer.  LOL Drunk fest in Salt Lake City?  That must be a little different. Jim D

Yes there are some nonmormans here . LOL  Some people here still get away with it . Baja next time your here try squarters brewey .They have a really good Pillsner,( Lite and crisp ) Its Called squarters Pill Or if you like the darker beers try their polygamy porter Thats really good . I like they all. O btw they have good food too.  Nick

Yes,  my co-worker swears by the polygamy porter!  I just like  little martini now and again... straight up with 3 olives.

 "wife"????   dang Bajadude ..  I thought you were a lone wolf, like me ..  from your past posts ..   but yes, there is some really weird crud going around ..   My brother has been sick with it for 3 days now, and he hardly ever gets sick or has to miss work b/c of it ..  His temp stayed below 101, bu*****pically goes from like cold or stomach virus symptoms to something a bit worse, more like bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection ..  He can barely speak now, and has a very sore throat ..  I've been told this strain is sweeping up into north Texas from the south part of the state ..  And, another odd thing:  my bro took care to get a flu shot earlier this year ..  But now they're saying the flu shots this year do not protect against many of the strains out there that are actually hitting the population ..   Get well soon ...  

My moms works at a hospital, and gave me the skinny on flu vaccines.  It seems that the powers-that-be get together each year and guestimate what flavor the bug is going to mutate into, and then cook up a batch accordingly.  According to her, they guessed wrong this year (at least in California) so the immunizations didn't do diddley-squat.... except perhaps make the bud stronger. She said her hospital is full of people with pneumonia right now.

I don't like my poo being messed with either!  I had a "solid stream" of boiling mud shooting out of my ass last night.... not fun 

been there done that. it's called withdrawl from pain meds! all your symptoms plus throwing up for 21 straight days! so i know that's not your problem but at least i can relate. get better....carbonblob
