I think the local auto dealership took me!!

My wife brought in her parent's 2003 Buick to the local dealership.  She is headed up to see family in Orgeon in a month.  Wanted to make sure she and her 79 year old mother would be safe.  A few weeks ago we went to a local mom and pop brake place to have them checked (We trust them and they do great service at a fair price).  The Buick dealer said (while looking at something else) the rear brake cylinders were starting to leak brake fluid and needed to be repaired.  We called the mom and pop place and their thought was we were getting ripped off.  They said they did the inspection and they felt the dealership was looking to do some padding (parts and labor $350 for new cylinders, shoes, and true drums and bleed the system)...Thoughts??  Brian

Remeber mechanics are on commission as are the service writers. The mom and pops value you as  a customer FAR more than ther dealership. I would stick with what the Mom and Pop told you

take it in to any TIre shop and ask them to do a brake inspection and they will do it for free.
