Had my surgery consult yesterday

Well one step closer. Had the consult yesterday and it went fine. I have toi shrink the old liver for the next two weeks. But other than that i have preop next Friday and the following Friday Let the surgery begin. It has gone kind of fast so far, still waiting for some kind of hickup. had my first appointment Jan 7, 08 and the surgery March 7th. Here's hoping for alot of change in 08.. Later, Ken

Ken, your surgery date will be here before you know it.  Everything has been going smooth for you during this process and that is great.  You will be truly amazed at the changes you are going to have in 2008.  You are starting the journey of your life.  Congratulations and enjoy!!!!!!!!!

You're on your way Bluedog. It's a great ride. Good for you. The liver shrinking pre-op phase is arguably the worst part. Just keep your eye on the prize and you'll get through it. Doug

Ken, Do as Doug said, pay close attention to the pre-op diet and follow very strictly.  The shrinking of the liver makes the Lap RNY easier and adds to the healing process. Good luck.  Time will fly. Guy

Thanks guys. No problem. The funny thing about the preop liver shrinking gig, my surgeon at Duke out of the blue ask me to pick a number between 10 and 20 and i picked 15 and he said that's what i won't you to lose before i see you again. He knows i can do it and i think he's messing with my head. I will lose . Thanks again. Ken

Congrats Ken.  Your process has gone much quicker than mine. I started back in October. Hopefully they will submit for insurance approval tomorrow or Monday.
