Macadamias in - Macadamias Out...Malasorption?

Hi Nick,

They are good. They seemed like they were chewing to powder, but evidently not. I did eat too many. My wife usually gets the unroasted ones, which are too fibrous to eat that many of. This time she got the roasted ones.

Be careful, we don't want you going to the hospital.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Thanks very much Dave.  I am sure I will never again eat Macadamias without thinking of your story. I think "same color and same smell" did it for me.  lol Joe

Sorry Joe,

I thought that was better than "smelled like someone sh** macadamias!" lol

Dave

That's what I always say about air fresheners, but about lavender. Matches or road flares don't clash!

Well macademia nuts are really high in fat, as a RNYers you malabsorb about 30 percent of your fat intake (proximal RNY)......so it probably allowed the nuts to "flow through".   I know when I eat nuts as a DSer, I  get grainy poops....I know TMI...but it's weird to wipe and feel grains coming out...lol. Scott,

I'll bet 30% of oil malabsorption probably means 60% malabsorption of everything else behind it - meaning the second half of your meal is wasted if you eat nuts first.

I've been eating soy pulp, the stuff that remains after tofu or soy milk is squeezed out - resembles coffee grounds, but soy beans. That pretty much goes through, too. Good fiber and not much carb or ...gulp!...phytoestrogens, God forbid!

Best Wishes,

Dave

Dave WTF is this

Nick,

Women use soy products for hormone replacement.

Here it is in wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoestrogens

The grounds (pulp) have most of this and most of the carbs squeezed out. They are also a really cheap source of fiber and a good replacement for the chicken in chicken salad.

A lot of bodybuilders avoid soy products because of this.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Well Dave you could get a touch with your softer female side ?? Nick

That would be near impossible Nick! But those trannies in Thailand sure do look like women (who are too expensive for my budget!) lol

Another good thing about Soybeans is they contain isoflavanoids. These are the chemicals in fruit and wine that prevent heart disease and cancer. Being on limited carb intake and unable to get much fruit or winder, this (and tea) should help.

Best Wishes,

Dave
