Everything went well, surgery took a total of 6 hours. PS did the skin removal first, then my WLS came in and did the hernia repair, and they both did the closing. They said it all went well no complications. I expected to wake up with a boat load of staples or stitches, but instead they glued me back together, the only stitches I have are the ones holding my 2 drains in place. I also have some kinda bulb, filled with pain meds it has a small tube that delivers pain meds right to the incision line. The worst part of it was getting a good bit of chest congestion that has to be coughed up, and that hurts like a sombeach. I was a little disappointed in the weight of skin he removed, his estimate was 15-25 pounds of skin, but ended up only being 11 pounds of skin. He said I already lost the fat out of it and skin doesn’t weigh that much. Overall I am very happy the way it looks. Well I am going to take a shot of pain meds and zonk out. Thanks guys for all your well wishes. Alan (NOT SO BIG) Al.

Welcome back littler Al. If you ask me (which you didn't! haha), 11 lbs of skin gone is pretty cool. As your doc said, skin without fat probably isn't that heavy. Congrats.

Al, Just remember that now is not the time to be a hero.  Use that pain ball liberally, and take the time to heal properly.  PS is a lot more about allowing the skin to heal, and not moving around a lot.  BTW, 11 pounds is a lot of skin, mine didn't even weigh more than 3 pounds. Happy zonking, Rob

Way to go AL ! So glad to hear all went well. Hang in there and keep on keeping on. As far as only 11 lbs....perspective.....when was the last time you lost 11 lbs in only 6 hours, while you were sleeping?  Think about it
