Thought I'd pop in and ask other guys opinions. I got my surgery date finally after three years of waiting. March 14th. Just curious what you all brought with you to the hospital.

House shoes and other things like that.  But maybe the best advice I have seen came from Dx and it really did not have anything to do with what you take.  But rather his suggestion was to shave your arms and the back of your hands where the nurse was going to be putting the IV in.  Of course some people have a picc line or a central line put in.  But if not, then shaving saves your arm from a lot of irriation  from the tape they use to secure the IV.  Hope this helps.  Congratulations on getting a date!!!!!  It will be here before you know it.

I took a lot of stuff and used little of it. Chapstick and my razor were about it....
Best of luck,

I too took a lot of stuff that I didn't use. I would second the house shoes and also PJ's and don't forget the chap stick. You may wonder why chap stick? I was not allowed anything to drink till after the leak test the next day and the chap stick did help. Maybe a pillow from home. Other than that your self and a positive attitude.  pan head

i was in the hospital for 3 days. i brought a portable dvd player to watch some movies, my IPOD, a robe, some slippers and chapstick. I used the chapstick more than the DVD player.

I just brought simple things like socks, underwear, Tshirts and ummmm shorts....I figure I was not going to be carrying all theses things. Besides, I was going to be in the hospital and did not want my favorite items to be full of germs...I ended up wearing my gown all time... Good luck!
