Facial Hair Survey

I grew a goatee when I was in college in 1970.  My overprotective mother thought I was doing drugs or something just because of the facial hair.  I kept it for several years.  I shaved it for a few days in 1973 and grew it back as a full beard.  I've had a full beard ever since then except for a couple times--usually once every 10-15 years when I've shaved it only to grow it back less than a week later.  I've had it now for over 10 years and I don't plan on ever shaving it off again.

Started growing a beard while at college just because I hated to shave. Then when I left college I kept it to hide my baby face. Later got married and my wife didn't want me to shave it off. Then came my CPAP mask 20 years ago and I had to shave the mustach and I looked like a Amish farmer. That was alright when I lived in Vermont and Maine, I fit right in. After the weight loss I polled the ladies on my home state site and they all had different ideas of what would make me look "sexy". Not a definition that I have ever heard used to describe me. Finally shaved everything but the gotee and now my wife is convinced that I did it because the ladies at work think it makes me look younger. Then again maybe it does. Of course we have been married for 25 years come May and I wouldn't trade her for anyone or anything.

I have had a beard since 1984 . That was the year I got out of the Army . Have had a beard ever since . I shaved two weeks before  I got married , and ma ma said OMG  WILL IT GROW BACK IN TIME . She thought I looked like a kid . I have shaved once or twice since then only to grow my beard back . Its kinda like an old friend now . I wont be getting rid of it any time soon .   Nick

Have had a mustache or goatee for most of the last 25+ years.   Went "baby face" for 2 or 3 years and just got tired of  lack of character or distinction I've heard from more than one source that women like a nice goatee or mustache and are subconcioulsy drawn to it as a sign or masculinity or virility.  The biggest  benefit has been the interesting things you can do with the little "poot" of beard below the lower lip... almost better than a feather for tickling the ladies ear, neck, lips and other places...

Had a goat for years before surgery and shaved it when I hit goal.   I've been told I look younger without it but I think that me minus the 254 pound is what makes me look younger not the facial hair.
