Okay so I have not had surgery yet and this FART doesn't really have anything to do with weight loss but here it goes... I have been a non smoker for 1 year now! I quit smoking because i knew a year ago I wanted this surgery but the doctors I talked to told me I had to quit. Well I didn't think I could do it but I went and had Laser therapy done and it was the easiest time I ever had quitting. I am so grateful for quitting. I feel so much better I can breathe easier and taste food. Smoking no longer controls my life. I figure if I can quit smoking then I can quit food with a little help from RNY.

Quitting smoking and getting an RNY all in the same year. Man, you are getting your **** together big time! Way to go.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

I quit smoking in April of 2006 and had surgery Sept of 06. Everybody looks at me when I said it is purley mental. I mean when I wanted something more than the cigarett (surgery) it was alot easier. Way to go with the first step. Food with me after the RNY became a necessity and not a desire. It is awsome to eat breakfast not thinking of lunch. Or even what to have until lunch gets here. I don't spend much time looking back antmore. Theres too much to look forward to. Good luck too ya...

Congratulations man!!!!!  Quitting smoking is a very big deal and I applaud you for it.  You can be assured this will help a lot when you do have your surgery.  Great Job!!!!!!!
