Thoughts on the RECESSION
Yep, you're right Doug. Ain't no such thing as an "American" vehicle anymore. Even the "American" icon Harley Davidson motorcycle has non-American parts now (such as the carbs, front forks, and other parts).
It's all about profit in this "global economy" we have today.
Want to hear an irony? I read an article a couple of years ago that the only motorcycle that is 100% "made in America" is the Honda Gold Wing!
Ahhhhhh-Sooooooo!
We have the opposite problem here. The economy is so hot that formerly unemployable people are now working in the service industry. Go to a mid-range sit down resturant and instead of being waited on by a decent looking, well dressed, well groomed kid, you get a tatooed, long-haired freak, with various pieces of metal and **** poking out of his face randomly wandering up to ask you if you "like want something to drink or whatever" before he goes back to the kitchen to get another bong hit. The local Wal-Mart looks like an episode of Springer that got nixed cause nobody would believe this level of degeneracy exists. And I always pick the cashiers line with the drooling imbecile working. Scanning six products per minute just about maxes her out. I guess the upside is they're buying their dope with more hard-earned dollars and less stolen and govt hand-out dollars.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Your opinion is noted.
I have a Ford Focus. I have 45000 miles on it and have not had to do anything except routine maint. It also has a 100000 mile warrantee, so if anything did go wrong, it wouldnt cost a cent out of my pocket.
I used to have a Pontiac Firebird, and it was a piece of crap.
Quality is way up, and you should leave yourself open to at least researching other products before judging them so harshly.
Have a nice day Bajaddict, and I hope you are enjoying that nice weather in california. Its colder than witches tittie here, and we just had 14 inches of snow yesterday.

Seems we all have had different experiences with autos which lead us down different paths. For instance, my first "real car" was a 1975 Toyota pickup which was a TOTAL PILE OF CRAP! A couple of motors and 3 transmissions (all on my dime while in college).
Sooooo...no Toyotas for me in this guys lifetime!!
On the other hand, Chevy trucks have been "berry, berry good to me."

That's all fine and dandy except that not a single line I wrote was intended as humor. I'm telling you it can be the drizzlin' ****s in some ways to live in a region with 3% unemployment.

"In my opinion, we all need to support the American economy first, and it will also "trickle down" to us all and make all our lives better. STOP BUYING FORIEGN AUTOS AND OTHER PRODUCTS if American made products are available."
AND
quality is comparable, doesn't have to be even as good for me to buy America first but quality must be close. Bottom line, I ain't be buyin' a piece of crap just cause it was made in the USA if the foreign product is much better from a quality perspective.
