OH Men's locker Room Group Information
Will since Paul’s Post about (thanks Paul) the OH groups men’s locker room. I though I should post some information on the group for all the new members and anyone that may be interested. The OH groups is new and even I am still learning what all I can do with it. The reason I started it was to give us guys another place in addition to the Men’s locker room men’s board to go to. The men’s board and all it’s members mean so much to me, they have been one of the greatest tools for me in my WLS journey. When I creating the OH groups men’s locker room I NEVER intended to replace the Men’s board, just to add another tool in the arsenal to provide support. All my life I have had a passion to help others, I have my father to thank for that. My father started the ambulance service in the town I grew up in PA, and was a volunteer fireman. So needless to say helping others is how I was raised. I followed in his footsteps and was an EMT, and a volunteer fireman most of my life until my weight stopped me from being active. Then dealing with being overweight most of my life also plays an important roll in my passion in doing anything I can to help people in there weight loss journeys. Well enough about that now about the group. First of all OH groups has just been set up for OH support group leaders to see how they work out. In the future OH groups will be available to any OH member to have there own group. Also in future releases I will be able to do more things like bulk e-mailings, because now I have to send out messages one by one to the membership. My hope is for the members of the OH group will use the message board like they do on the men’s board. I also want to have meetings in the chat room, and it will be up to the membership when and what time, and how often the meetings will be. This OH group is for the members to set it up to fulfill the needs of the members, I welcome any and all input. As some of you may know I am going to have my hernia and pannectomy surgery on Feb 14th, so I probably will not set up any chat meetings until after my surgery. So as of right now the group is 53 members strong, and I thank each and everyone who has joined. I also hope I haven’t offended anyone by starting this group and calling it the Men’s locker room group, if I have I deeply apologize. Like I said above it is just that the Men’s locker room has inspired me so much. As far as finding the location of the OH groups I even am not sure how to find my own group from the main screen, I will have to talk to the powers that be to find out where people can find us at. For now the best advise I can give is use this link http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/bigal2029_group/welcome/ and go to the top of the page and use the bookmark to bookmark the group. Than you everyone. Alan Hartman
