Damn I'm cold

I have never been cold like this before.  I just had my surgery a week ago today, and I just can't seem to get warm.  I know it's colder here than it usually is, but this goes beyond that.  I guess I'm just not taking in any energy to stoke the fires. Does anyone else have this temperature problem, and does it get better. I had to wear a beanie cap and wool socks to bed last night because I was so cold.  I know I can't afford the million dollar heating bill I'm going to get if this keeps up :)

Absolutely.  It is very common.  I had my surgery in December and that winter was miserable.  Last year was better and this year is fine.  It has gotten better for me but has taken a while.  I remember wearing a winter hat to bed.

Pretty common, I understand.  If you're like me, you've become used to always being hot, even when everybody else was comfortable.  Now that I'm 5 months out and 131 pounds down, I'm freezing my ass off all the time! Less energy in + less insulation on = Pretty freakin' cold! Can't personally vouch for how it is farther down the road.  Those that have BTDT, like Scott, say it gets better.  I sure hope so!

My hands are frequently cold now that I've lost weight. Of course -48 wind chill today isn't helping.

Doug your in the great frozen north so I would be worried if your not freezing most of the time. I am 19 months out and I am cold on my hands and my feet all the time during the winter months here in Carolina. My wife takes great delight in my discomfort from the cold since my son and I were always warm before I had WLS and she was freezing all the time. I wear long sleeve shirts with tee shirts now for a regular day in my office. This winter is just as bad as last year was for me but I did lose 241lbs of insulation. On the good side I can go hike 7.5 miles in under two hours and barely break a sweat. So I can live with the cold and yes my heating bill has increased but my AC bill has dropped. It all balances out somewhere along the way, I hope.

Yes sir Scott, some people around here say we have 9 months of winter and 3 months of poor sleding. But that would be an exaggeration.  Be that as it may, I look at my cold fingers and see how thin they are and smile. Some problems are better than others arn't they? So just try to stay warm boys. Remember; fat people don't "get" to complain about being cold.

I am cold all the time since surgery. I can't get over how cold I am. It's freakish.

I'm down 166 lbs of insulation and I can feel the cold more than ever before.

Thanks for posting this.. I thought I was alone in my frigid fury....
