Hey Guys so I am 4 1/2 months out now and I noticed I can eat more then before. Also I get hungry but I wasn't before. I sure some of it is head hunger. I don't snack at all but sometimes after a long run I feel like a snack. When did you guys are to feel hungry again and feel like a snack? I am the only one that is worried once this started?

Try eating smaller portions but eat more often. When you "must" snack make healthy choices. Fill up on foods low in carbs, snack on protein.

Right now I don't any snacks about 3 meals a day. At my meals I would have 4 oz meat and a small small side. Is this what you guys do also?

I am always eating or drinking, with the 1/2 hour between each activity of course. If push came to shove I would say that I eat 4 meals a day and about as many snacks. Smaller meals fill me up quickly but I am hungry again in a few hours if I don't drink or eat between. Just eat or drink things that are good for you, protein mostly and I live on SF pop-cicles, even in the winter! Well that does it for me, I am off to make a Latte! (low fat milk of course!)

From the beginning, on Dr.'s reccomendation, I have eated 5 to 6 smaller meals a day. Over 4 1/2 years and still at it. It's worked out well for keeping from ever really getting hungry and has kept my blood sugar levels at a constant. But go with YOUR Doc's reccomendations. I may have lost and maintained my loss "IN SPITE OF" how I eat. :-) Different strokes for everyone. Best Wishes- Dx

I'm 6 months out and have the same feelings.  I seem to be able to eat most foods without problems now and I still like to eat.  It takes a conscious effort to stay on track but I'm still motivated to do so.  I find that I often do not drink enough water, eat too many SF popsicles and other foods that contain splenda, and do not get enough exercise.  Now that I have identified my deficiencies, I need to work on them.  Basically, I find that consuming too much splenda adds up to too many carbs which feeds the hunger.  I have continued to lose weight so am not too concerned at this point.

I'm a little over two months out and am dealing with some fairly serious hunger if I 1) go more than 5 hours without eating, and 2) eat to many carbs in a meal. Crackers seem to be slowly becoming the problem for me that tortillas used to be. I have a friend who is 10 months out and claims not to have felt a hunger pain yet. I was hoping I could get to at least 6 months w/o having to deal with the hunger, but maybe it's better this way.  I'm getting a chance to work on discipline and mental toughness pretty quickly rather than getting a free ride for 6 months and then having to form good habits.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

I eat three meals a day and two to three snacks inbetween. Snacks are normally one oz of cheese and / or one oz of almonds, low carb yogurt, SF jello, no sugar added apple sauce and on course SF popsicles. Oh yeah sometimes celery and peanut butter. I try to eat some thing every three hours. If I do this I don't get hungry and energy and blood sugar remain level. Helps to measure out portions at first so you learn portion control, a least it worked for me.  pan head

I found some individual one ounce servings of Laughing Cow Babybel cheese at Sams Club the other day.  They are pretty good.  They come bagged in a mesh bag.  I think they are edam cheese, which is mild but tasty.  I like it with a handful of almonds or homemade granola.  It satisfies any munchies and gives me some protein as well.   Each serving is 70 calories, but they also had a light version at 40 to 50 calories, I think.  I usually can't stand light or fat-free cheese, but the real thing is fairly rich tasting, so I think I will give the light version a try next time.   Mini Babybel cheese
