head hunger

Oh guys, heres a kicker.  I am almost 3 whole weeks post op from a lap RNY and I have graduated to pureed foods.  I see the commercials for food, I smell food in the air, etc...  how in the heck do you get through that.  It makes me want  to eat even if I am not hungry.  I am concerned that it may be some of my old habits surfacing.  Any ideas or advice to work through this?   So far I have been doing great on weight loss.  I am down 22 lbs since surgery and 43 lbs total.  That is in about months time.  I am feeling good physically but I know I need more water intake.  Thanks for any help or advice anyone may have. I'm about 7 weeks out and I've had good success staying away from too much food with lots of water (80-120 0z./day) and spacing my protein out between meals. I also get out of the kitchen and away from the TV when it bothers me! Good luck, CB

Steve5,

Sorry that you're having that problem.  I'm five weeks out, and I have the opposite problem.  Everything is gross, and I really am only eating probably about half of what I should be.  I am doing better getting fluids in, though, I'm sure I'm making 64 ounces every day.

It's funny, because I can try something new, and the first time, it tastes pretty good.  Then, I try it again, and yuck.  This has happened with several things now.
