Dr R,
Welcome to the locker room you’re always welcome to hide here from the bull**** of the rest of the OH boards. I think your knowledge and insight are a great addition to our humble home. I have been a member of this group for over 2 years now. I had RYN in April06 at Duke. I started at 460lbs and today I am at 220lbs which I have maintained for the past 10 months by following the rules and getting lots of exercise. I am exNavy (10 years of chasing Russian subs around the world). I did
Beirut, , and I also did Gulf War I as a civilian contractor installing allied computer networks all over the Gulf. Then I spent a lot of time working spec-ops in Central and South America with the AF (Howard AFB), Navy(Seals), and USMC(Recon) doing drug interdiction work. Been a lot of places and have seen a lot of things as by buds use to say.
As I mentioned in my post last night, we work really hard to keep all the ladies BS out of here. Sometimes that requires us to be very rude in order for them to get our point that we do not want them here. I sure they are lurking all the time just to see what we are up to. We are OK with them lurking but we don't really want their opinions and insights. We come here to talk about WLS from the perspective for men. All the sites and support groups are all so estrogen filled that this is really the only place we have to call home so you have to forgive us if we seem overly protective of our little piece of cyberspace. It we were not so vigilant this place would be filled with dollies, WOW moments, tea parties, and tons of soap opera drama in less than a week. We have tried hard to make this a place where men can talk about anything WLS or not. As you know WLS surgery is just one part of this process, the real work begins after you finish losing weight and you have to live your new life everyday. We try hard to be there for each other and share the good and the bad. We also kick each other in the ass when it is called for and we all say prayers when things go bad for one of our brothers. That the way it has always been around here since I got here and that how the majority of us like it. As I said before, we are really glad that you have come online and chosen to join us in the locker room. Don’t let the smell get to you, when the FARTs start rolling around here the cloud can be toxic.
Regards,
Tim
