Mine would be: 1. "Diets" don't work - lifestyle changes do. 2.  There is no "easy" way 3.  WLS is no "short-cut" - it is a tool

Here are my 3 big truths which I try to live by each and every day: Eat to Live, not Live to Eat -  Somewhat cliche I realize but so important to beat the head hunger thing. Before I eat anything, I literally ask myself am I hungry and, if so, is what I'm about to eat nutritionally good for me. 180 degree change in my behavior prior to WLS when (I'm sure we can all relate to this) I just shoveled in the food without regard to the impact on my health or weight.  Move - In addition to exercising nearly every day, I do little things which help me burn more calories. Stuff like park my truck in a far away spot when I go out so I walk further. Never take an elevator or escalator. While at work, go to a restroom on a different floor so I have to do the stairs. Ride my bike to the grocery store instead of hopping in the truck.   Set a max limit for my weight -  I refer to this as my "red line weight" which is 220 pounds. Once I go over this weight, I take immediate action to get my weight down to between 210 and 215 (I'm 6'4" or so). So, I go on a mini-diet and crank up the exercise to lose the 5-10 pounds before my weight gets out of control.  Great thread, Russ Boner

Great thread! Here are two absolute truths in my life. Behavior is truth. I am what I do more than what I say. Don't settle; work for the goal that you really want. Even if it turns out to be unreasonable or unreachable, you'll be better off for the effort. Thanks Russ and guys.
