SCOTT, Dude,...you're alive.  I've/We've been missing your smiling face, guidance, and poke in the eye humor on the fitness board as well as here. I was afraid you had been attacked by a giant kit kat or something, wrapped in foil and shut up in glovebox or other secret hiding place or something as bad. Hows the training admist the clean and cool air conditions of your ski resort habitiat? I'm freezing my butt off in VA. Joe

It is cold here too but that is why they made gyms and treadmills.  Just getting back into the swing of things.  Hitting the weights again and the weight is down.  My moral is definitely up.  Thanks

Weight down, moral up,...that is good news.   You do write about your experiences very well.  They are good reads. Since I have gained 9 pounds as of this am, I about fell backward off the scales, I guess I need to buckle down and get more intense or focused or something.  I thought I was being good. Do you attribute you recent turn around to anything other than your personal committment and effort?  I'd be inrterested as I am beginning to understand better how you put in the training you do and the weight doesn't continue to roll off as I was under the now blatently obvious mistaked impression it would. Seems I have not as of yet been able to remove the peeble from your hand, mighty zen master. I remain Grasshopper.

I guess that I finally realized that I have a problem with controling my food.  I have been to 2 OA meetings and I certainly plan on going to more.  I am a compulsive overeater.  There is no other way around it.  I found that I was eating thousands of calories a day of absolute crap.  I have not been perfect in the last month but I have been 80% better than I was.  I weigh in every week now.  I tihink that for me, I just have to stay on top of it.  One reason I like the meetings is that it puts it right out there once a week (or more if I can find the time - most local meetings are when I work).  I just hope I can keep it going.  It feel so much better.  Like you said - focus is a good work for it.  Good luck

Awesome! You know I’m not one for long narratives….. But, That was great. Sort of like a chronological-Stream-of-Consciousness piece…. The "Real You" shows through. And the "Real-You" Is clearly a grateful, caring, and observant Guy Who is a Champion among his Fellow Man. So glad for all the changes that have taken place To let you know "You’ve Got It!" Go take on the rest of the World! Whatever that may be. Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Mr. short and sweet.  (woo, woo, woo, not that ... I mean the posts)! Thanks for saying all those nice things.  I am not sure about observant though.  I work in a jail so I just keep my head down and pretend not to see anything.  The running is going well and I don't see an end in sight.  Good for me.  Thanks man

Great read man.   Congrats!

My first triathlon was forking cancelled next weekend!  I'm still "in training" for the Mardi Gras Marathon on the 24th of February (I'm on pace to finish in 4:30 if I can stick to my 9ish minute miles!) and I've got two more triathlons coming up in the next month too.

I'm signing up for the Goofy for next year.   Hopefully I'll get to see you there!

It looks as I will see you there but I won't be doing the Goofy.  I want more park time and the half will help that.  Congrats on going for it and good luck next month.

Great job, Scott.   You've got me hooked.  I'm now debating between doing the Disney 2009 or trying to one later this year.   I'm probably going to go ahead and sign up this week and spend the rest of this year preparing. Where do you go from here? Rob
