OT: The Giants are going to the Superbowl

This is not a joke!  I'm in shock (and an Eagles fan) but my wife has been a Giants fan for 50 years.  I know that most of their fans had been calling for both the coach's and Eli's heads after the first few games this season.  Who woulda thunk? I wrote an e-mail to a cousin Sat saying I was going to cheer for the team in red, white, and blue in each of the games on Sun.  Now I predict that the team in red, white, and blue will win the Superbowl.

I've loved watching the Patriots run this year.  I want the Giants to win for my wife and her family.  But, I also like the Patriots.  I guess I'll root for the Giants but won't mind if the Pats win.  Remember, I'm and Eagles fan.

I'm glad NY is going cuz Dallas wouldn't have had a snowball's chance of beating NE! Personally, I slightly committed NE simply cuz we're an AFC kinda town BUT ---- I hope NY pulls it off so Archie can have two sons with championships and I'd like to see NE get knocked off their high horse. (Sorry - my vicious little vindictive side coming out there)

There are about 500 starters in the NFL right now going, "Damn Giants". The commonly accepted wisdom in the NFL as of recent has been to rest your starters week 16 if you're already in. The Giants and to a certain degree the Pats play their starters week 16 in an effort to see who had the bigger nutsack and now the Giants  are, improbably, in the show. Every broke dick on ESPN was picking against the Giants in week 17 because of trying to beat NE and every one of them now has face planted in the ol' quiche. Watch next year and see if all of the head coaches of teams who are in don't play most of their starters cause that's what Coughlin and Belichek did. And being a southern boy, I can't see myself pulling for either team. I'm pulling for Anheuser-Busch to make me laugh at something stupid this year.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

From the shadows of Giant Stadium: If you told me eight weeks ago the G-Men would be in the Super Bowl I'd think you're nuts... Strange how quickly they turned it around, especially Eli!  At anyrate anything can happen after all look at the Amazing Mets in 69' I'd take the Giants and the points and hope for the best... I think they'll keep it close. From a life long fan... GO BIG BLUE GO!!!

Always remember the New England Patriots must play someone in the Super Bowl, and the Giants are it.  The only thing that keeps the Pats from being the best team in Football history is about 13 days.  What will be great about this years SB  is watching Peyton consoling Eli. Don't be fooled by the walking cast that Brady has on.  He will be fine. I can remember the days when that Pats went 1 -15 and were the worst team in the NFL.  It is great to have them as the BEST team in football today. Can anyone say DYNASTY.

agree with the other guys. i think it came down to one simple stat. completions versus interceptions. all the sudden and when it counted in post season, eli just stopped throwing dog **** one coach said throwing an interception in play offs is like a fumble. so true. this is going to be an interesting game. strayhan or however you spell his name is on his game big time for defense and eli is just doing what they ask of him. don't turn over! btw, i would have bet anything it would be green bay going and not them. i thought brett was having a career busting year. very surprised they didn't make it but that's football. on any given sunday.

that cast is bull**** by the way. he's out there to help his girlfriends career. all cameras are on him and she needs the publicity so he's doing her a favor that's all. super bowl is the one time i get the doritos with all that crappy salt, a bucket of guacamole and stuff the **** out of my face. oh, and i look for some ice cream too! i hold off all year for this so i go for it and get the stuff i still jones for.....lol carbonblob

Pats fans are morons.  As are their sisters - Red Sox fans.   As a Giants fan and a Pats hater I can't wait for the Giants to put the New York - Boston universe back into alignment.  It has been out for a while and it's time to get things straightened out.   That being said, there is a reason that the Giants are 13 point underdogs.  It would be an upset should they win but can we Giants fans really be disappointed with the season.  I had the highest expectations of them of anyone I know and that was 9-7 and if they could put it all together, perhaps one playoff win.   It has been a great run for the Pats but in two weeks it will all mean nothing!!!

OK Scott I am one of those MORON PAT'S FANS and a DIEHARD REDSOX FAN.  Would you like to put your money where your mouth is? A $50.00 donation to the charity of your choice if the giants win. If the PATS win you have to make a $50 donation to the  Chelsea Community YMCA. JIM

My max bet is and always has been $1.  However, If the Giants lose I will donate an extra dollar a week from my paycheck to Hospice of Southeastern, CT.  I already support them and if I break it up over a year, It won't hurt so much.  You are on!!!
