An Update on the Saga...(Long Post)

So last week I had written about the Woes of my journey so far, so here is an update. Insurance Issues: After several phone calls to the COBRA processors and phone calls to Blue Cross Blue Shield I was getting NOWHERE.  Finally I called the Director of HR from the company I was let go from and talked her all about what was going on.  She made a phone call to BCBS and faxed in some Magic form and BINGO, It  was done.  However, the process takes 24 hours to sync to the healthcare providers network.  Meanwhile back at the clinic, they took me off the schedule anyway even though they told me I had until Thursday, the person in charge of scheduling decided that she didn't want to take a chance that it would clear up and moved someone from the 28th, into my slot, and moved me to the 28th.  So in the end, not a bad result if you ask me. Blood Sugar: So as instructed I went to my PCP to look into my elevated blood sugar and low and behold they told me I  am now diabetic.  Not that I am surprised by this news because I knew that I was heading down that path at a rapid pace.  So they gave me a prescription for a glucofage and a blood monitor to check my levels a few times a day.  I have not seen a level above 160 since I started this process so I feel confident that I will be under 200 which is where the nurse told me I needed to be before the surgery.  My PCP also feels confident that this will go away after i lose 50 lbs but will he will treat me as a diabetic for at least one year. So all in all not bad news.  It looks like Mr. Murphy and his Damn Law has gone away and I will be on the Loser Bench in 9 days.
