Maybe it's time to change the description of this forum a bit...

Not that I'm upset by it or anything, but I just replied to a PM from a guy who searched the profiles, saw 'Men' in mine, assumed I was gay, and invited me to the GLBT forum. Personally, I don't care who anyone sleeps with. FWIW, I invited him over here, since he has the requisite naughty bits to join. I think that maybe it's time the Powers That Be change the interest tags for this forum a bit to be a little more indicative of what we are. I suggest something like 'The Lockerroom' or 'Men''s Forum' or something, not simply 'Men'.

That guy is sending emails to everyone and I see him posting on lots of forums. I just tell him to fu&k off.

Hey Jack the new Gay forum, is just that NEW...since you are a little new here too...you may not know that this forum almost died, on several occations, if it were not for Dxe, going and actively recruiting guys to our space...he put quite a bit of effort into it.... That is what a couple of the guys are trying to do...that is all As much as we are in this together, there are some differences in our journeys, that only another gay man can understand...  I understand that you may not feel comfortable with this offering, but us could come here and talk about our personal issues...because this forum is for men...I thought they were being a little respectful.... Bob might have it right....in changing the name to "The Locker Room" but you know....people new to the board, you and them...they learn...please don;t take issue.... russ

The problem is not with the name of the forum.  Rather, the problem really lies in the hassle in finding us in the first place.  There should be some way that the moderators of ObesityHelp.com can ask new members what sex they are and refer the males to our forum.  We all know that the Main forum is really the Women's forum.  Why not separate us right from the beginning?  Men and Women can interact with each other trough the other special forums. I have never had a problem with gay men being on this forum.  Some have said openly on the forum that they are gay.  Some others don't mention it on our forum but do say it in their profiles.  In some of those cases it's funny reading other men's responses to their posts.  Sometimes guys here just assume that every other man her is just waiting to pounce on the first woman that gives them the eye.  That's also humorous considering the number of ministers and priests (yep, there are priests here but they don't mention that up front). As it is now, you have to go to Forums, scroll down to More Forums, and then look around at the various Forums to find us.  We're with the group of Forums relating to WLS--almost like we're a specalty forum. We should be an obvious choice for men.  If the Moderators won't screen Men to come directly to our Forum, then they should list us prominently in the Forums column so Men could see us as one of the top forums to choose from

I agree with SJBob........... FInding this forum was a pain in the ass and I didn't even know about it until I had been a member for over a year. Thank God I finally found it! OH should do better advertising and promotion of our board, but until they do it is up to us to keep this thing alive and kicking.  In my own efforts to do just that, I usually post about once a month on my state's board openly inviting MEN to our forum in a pleasant and non-offensive way. In fact.......it's been a while since I did that so I think I will now.

His board probaby needs members so he posts on other boards, PM's people, etc. So, in case he or any gay guy is watching: I LIKE VAGINAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
