Christmas Eve Coffee Talk
Merry Christmas everyone! Today is Christmas Eve. Will you be running today trying to finish things up or will you be resting? Many of you will be traveling. Whatever you do, be careful and enjoy your day!
Our challenge today is to be at peace. Let peace run your life today. Peace on earth, good will to all men. If the world operated in that way, we'd have a wonderful world and a wonderful place to live. Makes me think of the song, "What A Wonderful World". I LOVE that song. Peace to you today and in all you do!
So, who's up? What cha sipping on? Me? I'm not making coffee at home today. I'm taking some awesome Fudge Nut Brownie to the cafe to make. I'm slowly but surely intorducing flavored coffee to the employees and they are liking it! HEHEHEHE NOW, just getting the customers to like it and accept it. Slow go on that one.
Ya'll have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and remember, Jesus is the reason for the season. Peace!
For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"

Randall, regarding getting your customers to try flavored coffees, you may make out better at the cafe by using the DaVinciGourmet syrups to add to a couple of different brews. You can get the syrups in both sugared or sugar-free forms. You can easily calculate how much you'd have to charge your customers for the addition of the flavoring in order to make a reasonable profit on the product. The bottles are about $7.50 and I generally use about 1 shot per cup (I really just add it until it tastes right to me).
You may want to start off with some of the more familiar flavors such as caramel, French vanilla, Hazelnut, Kahlua, and Irish Cream. This would be a lot easier than actually brewing several flavored beans. You can then introduce your customers to a variety of coffee blends and slowly get them to start trying flavored coffees.
Just hearing about your cafe reminds me of a comedy routine that Bob and Ray used to do on their radio show on WOR in NYC. It was about the House of Toast where you could order toast buttered on the near side or on the far side. They also sold Prune shakes there.
As to driving, we go to my parents' house for our Christmas Eve meal with the family. Since my brother is in the choir at his church, we have our meal this afternoon. From there we drive up to my mother-in-law's house to spend Christmas Day with her and my wife's family. And, yes, we will be driving but most of it is during the day.
Merry Christmas to you too.
