Obscene Language does not belong on this forum

I know this is semantics, but I don't consider "go *^%$ yourself" to be a personal attack.  It's merely a suggestion.  "She's not all that bright" is a personal attack, but in my opinion, it was directed at an interloper, not a men's board member, so oh well.  As for whether we should avoid bad language, I guess I have mixed feelings.  I generally agree, and it's pretty rare I use bad words in writing, but sometimes no other words will do. As to women posting on the men's board, I agree it should be heavily discouraged.  I have been guilty of responding to some female posts that I found interesting, but paula2's thread was a textbook example of crap I don't want to see here.  And clearly a heavily nuanced position doesn't work, you have to have a bright line policy.  So I'll do my best to discourage interlopers in the future, though perhaps not with baja's flair.

I agree that I do not want women to post on our Forum, but ObesityHelp.com leaves it as an open forum.  The original response in the thread that I found offensive spelled out the word rather than showing xxxx.  The remark seemed to be written to another one of the men in the locker room and not to the intrusive woman.  I didn't respond to her thread because I agree that she just seemed ignorant.  I actually think she sounded a little stupid.  A trainer in most gyms may be sincere in trying to help people but many of them are in it only for the buck.  He may be buttering her up to have her sign up for training sessions.  I don't care. I agree that I don't want to hear about it here. 

I think Baja got it about right. He asked her nice then she refused to comply. So he asked her with some feeling. Then JoeBear put his 2 cents in to defend her stupidity which was wrong on his part. Sometimes you just have to hit them in the head with a brick when nothing else seems to work!! So Baja did what most men would do, he told them to go screw themselves. I sorry it bothered you sjbob but she should have left and JoeBear should have stayed out of it. This is the MEN'S board not the "Does my ass look fat in these pants" board. Hell, if old Buckeye John had let loose on JB and this crazy ***** we would have all learned some new words today. Point is, we will lose our spot here if we do not fight for it. I have been a member of this board for many years and I not going to let some crazy chick screw it up for all my brothers that really need it. So I say good job Baja, kick ass!!

I will stand up for a fellow WLS person (male or female) when they are criticized for something they can't control (such as intelligence). I have been dealt enough crap as a fat man and I think it is mean-spirited and unnecessary. That said, I am cool with Baja's reponse to me. I think his instruction to me was a suggestion, not a command, and I am OK with that.  I respect the opinion of all who posted. Consider this a handshake, even if I am using only my middle finger.  :-)   Let's move on. Joe Bear

No sweat, Joe Bear.... there's no hard feelings, and there never was.  I'm just rude and obscene by nature.  I don't play well with others, and sometimes lash out unexpectedly for no apparent reason.  Maybe it was all that crack my mom smoked during my gestation period (just kidding, mom!). OK... As I sat down to read this post... I did the following. I scratched my nutz... I shot a fart out of my ass so loud that I think I think I felt it reverb off the wall.. Then I came up on this thread, I almost had to check and see if I was in the Alabama forum. I need to make sure that I wasn't in the "my tits are saggin" area of OH. Than I came to Carbonblob's post... MAN that was some funny **** I loved it. There are 85 other forums on this great website. But this one is ours, and we need to protect our borders at all costs.

Shouldnt we save the drama for the oprah board (I love that line)? This is the locker room.  I can burp I can fart I can even crap in the corner if I want to.  Thats our rights as men.  CUrsing is just part of it.  As long as it isnt a personal attack or being meant meanly. That being said.  **** See, not that bad.  lol
