Personalized License Plate Ideas Needed
In two weeks it will be the season -- the season in Texas to order personalized license plates (we can now only order them during January-February) in our State ..
I've wanted to commemorate my Double Century Club membership with a personalized plate .. Within the guidelines for creating them (IIRC), I've come up with the following (in preferred order shown):
#1 [ X 461 LB ]
#2 [ X461 LB ]
#3 [ X461LB. ]
#4 [ X461LB ]
#5 [ X461LBS ]
I was talking to my DS ();-) the other night about this topic, and she opined she would not want her old weight (or anything about her WLS) on her license plate, but I figure that is a "girl vanity thing" .. we guys feel differently on this (right?)

Hey Paul -
Those combos are likely gonna be hard to get because they are very similar to standard issues and may actually already be in use.
Maybe try FATGON or NU PAUL or WLS GUY or DS PAUL
All of 'em would be conversation starters and I figure that's mostly what you're after, right?

wow - some good ideas there, fellas!
Yes, we can use "#" as one of the few symbols (other than "." and "-") on the plates .. so I'll play around with ideas there, too ..
and yes, I had originally thought of { DS-BPD ] .. but then realized the only people that would even know what it meant were likely other DSers and WLS surgeons .. lol

well, in Texas probably NOT .. I have heard of such plate applications being routinely rejected .. The granting of vanity plates is purely at the discretion of the Tex. Dept. of Trans. , and their rules say they are entitled to reject any application that they feel is obscene, vulgar, profane, racist, or promotes violence or criminal action, IIRC .. Texas is a pretty conservative state! (still, sometimes ambiguous vanity plates "sneak through" the system, they admit .. and I have seen some pretty "racey" ones - lol!) sooooo .. who knows for sure?

>> we guys feel differently on this (right?)<<
I personally am looking forward to a time when people won't think of me as the ex-fat guy, so I wouldn't get a tag to remind people. I've been very open about my WLS with everyone who already knew me before, but I try to talk about it less as time passes. With thin people who didn't know me before surgery, I'd rather just be what they see rather than bring up history. It's not about vanity or being ashamed, it's about feeling "normal." But when obese people comment on wanting to lose weight or having health problems, I have (and always will) let them know I was obese and had surgery.
That said, I understand why many people feel differently. And if it makes you happy, I think it would be an awesome tag.
