Luck or what
Hello guys I have a question for you all I am a little over 4 weeks post op and have been trying everything that I am allowed to have and nothing seems to affect me in anyway what so ever. Now is this normal I have had beef, checken, soy, milk, OJ, and various other things to eat and it just goes right down with out any bad effects am is this normal or am I just one of the luck ones? I seem to have hit a wall about one week ago but as of Friday I lost another 4 lbs. I could not lose for about one week but as of friday like I said I went down 4 lbs and have not done anything different than the week befor. Also is depression a must or only for some? I just wanted too know how I should feel or what is my next step I like too know what is coming before I get too that stage. Well guys thanks for lending me your ears on this one and have a great Xmas and Happy New Year to all.
Hey Wheels, I had my RNY on Sept. 10th and had to relearn how to eat. I had problems with certain foods (steak, and chineese) - wound up dumping on both. I don't seem to have much of a problem with sugars - although I can tell almost immediately whether or not something will agree with me. I have not had any issues with depression yet - hope I don't. I have had some mood swings, small things seem to set me off more now than they used to. Hang in there, I think you are going to be okay. Charles
Well, if you are just lucky, I am there with you.
I haven't had any problems with anything I have eaten either.
(My surgery was just a week or two before you.)
I had a small piece of prime rib at the wifes X-mas party, and it went down fine.
Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, Salmon, Bean soup, sausage, milk, cheese, soy milk all so far so good.
The only thing you list that I haven't tried is any juice.
I have stuck with Diet Snapple and Lean Sobe and flavored waters and lots of water.
I don't know if I would dump on the juice, but I am not interested in finding out at this point, there are plenty of good alternatives for me for now.
As for the next step, sounds like your diet is similar to mine, and after this week (6 weeks out) I get to stert incorporating some carbs in the form of veggies with my protein.
Sounds kind of funny, but I am really looking forward to having some green beans or something with my meal.
