The Cats are at it Aain
Exactly why I stay as far away as possible, although I did read some, and read the original post linked to the DS board, and that girl asked for it...newbie as she is, now she has learned her lesson - hopefully....Folks are passionate about their WLS, especially when their motives and decision process for having the surgery are called into question. It's getting to the point where asking what kind of surgery you had is akin to saying "who you with?" and flashing a gang sign....give the wrong answer, and beef will automatically ensue!

Sheesh. Yeah, I read some of that tripe as well. I was tempted to speak my voice on the matter but realized that it would really be pointless.
You've had RNY and lost weight? Great, congratulations!
You've had DS and lost weight? Great, congratulations!
You've had LapBand and lost weight? Great, congratulations!
You've had vertical sleeve and lost weight? Great, congratulations!
You've lost weight without surgery? Great, congratulations!
You've put a cork in your mouth and lost weight? Great, congratulations!
You've got a tapeworm in your gut and you lost weight? Great, congratulations!
It doesn't matter WHAT surgery you have if you don't get your MIND right afterwards. I attribute maybe 100 pounds of my 254 pounds lost to surgery. I attribute the other 154 pounds to my strict as hell exercise regimin. I could have had any of the surgeries and I know deep down inside I would have had the same results. It wasn't until I got my MIND right and realized that I would be dead in 5 years if I didn't do something. It was unfortunate that I had to do something as drastic as have weight loss surgery but it was the best decision of my life and I've had amazing success with it. Maybe I'm not typical of everyone that has this surgery but I exercise like a fiend and that's why I've had the success that I've had.
To all the haterz that think their surgery is better than another one I say... "Suck it Trebek!"
