Iron man
OK I've been missing for some time. I'm 3 yrs out and training for my 1st Iron Man competition. I haven't been on OH for so long I'm not sure it I make any sense. I've completed 2 (1/2) Iron Man competitions and did very well.
Gentleman I'm here to tell you that the choice is yours. The local news did a story on me., Check it out.

If I can do it you damn sure can
I hear you, but the men out there must realize that they don't have to measure their success by what you can do. I'd say that someone who is around 300 to 350 pre-op and is young enough will probably be able to do a lot more physical activity post opp than someone who is over 500 and older. It's important that we set reasonable goals for ourselves. I knew that my goal weight directly due to the RNY would leave me at the starting weight of many of the men contemplating WLS. That didn't matter to me because I had a lot to gain as far as quality of life is concerned.
You've done well and I wish you continued success. There's another post op man in NJ who does a few tri-athilons a year. Bravo to you. And, I cheer on all of the men who are embarking on any exercise program after years of only exercising their fingers on remote controls or computers.
That's great Geoff. I'll be competing in my first marathon in February and my first tri-athalon in April. You must have read my mind because I was gonna create a post this morning on this forum asking if any post-ops had run the IronMan in Hawaii. I've been doing some reasearch of late to see what's involved in qualifying for that event. Not too easy to get in from what I understand but I'm gonna go for it nonetheless.
