Man what a rough crowd today. It is all about perception.  No matter what you put someone will disagree.  Some will think you are above average some will think you are below average.  With that I would have to agree with some of the other post and go with curvy.  That will open up the most doors to begin with. Have fun in your search and hopefully you will find a true match.

first, you guys crack me up! i love the responses. it's the full range. really laughed at the full monty pics!

so cher, was a time i would probably blast you for coming on our board and asking this question. much like panhead posted. like some of the others i was taken back by your postive attitude even in the face of the negative posts who are just doing their job by the way so don't take it personal (which i don't believe you did). we all take turns chasing the women folk out of here.....lol. believe me, if you really pissed us off we aren't nice about the response. so i think you touched most of us guys! does that sound right? need pictures if not!

so for once i'll break my rule and respond. i don't know anything about these dating boards. so i can't help you out there. i would stress what a nice lady you are and the fact that you don't rattle easy. at least that impresses me and a couple other guys here. i guess i'm at the point in my life that image isn't everything. i've always tried to look deeper into a person.

so i can't believe you have to rate yourself in these sites. so i guess a pic tells a thousand words. let the guys who are fishing on the surface know you've lost a lot of weight and are still losing if it's that important to them. jeez. i would much rather connect on a deeper level about personal stuff. at least that was my criteria back in the day. i've been with someone for over 21 years. we're not married so i guess we're on the leasing program. sure hope you find someone as good as my girl........carbonblob

I'm another one of the happily married guys--for 33 years to the same woman.  Yeah, I look at other women, but not with a desire to be with them. However, I do know a few men who got back into the dating scene when their marriages ended by death or divorce.  The widower met his compainion at a berevement support group.  One of the divorcees just meets women at bars.  The other met both of his successive girlfriends from dating websites.  The first one was from a national site but the second was from a fairly local site.  Both he and his girlfriend are professors at Rutgers. You may get lucky at match.com, but you may also want to see if there are other sites in the MA area.  Stressing your love of the Red Sox and hatred of the Yankees should attract a fair amount of men.  At least they'd know you wouldn't object to them watching the Sox play. My wife is a big sports fan and that does help in that she's not annoyed when I watch sports on TV. She watches a wider variety of sports than I do including soccer, football (not my team), basketball, baseball, drag racing, and even bowling.  And, she knows what's going on including scoring, strategies, and formations. Back to your original question, I just don't know.  Some men don't really care about those categoris--we're not all just looking at breasts.  Some men will be entrance by your eyes while others are into legs or other body parts.  Do you only give a head shot?  Can you refer people to additional pictures?  It's a strange world out there and there are many ways to meet the "right" person.  I just asked my wife to dance with me at a bar in Dec, 1972 and that's all it took.

Hey SJ,   Congrats on 33 years of marriage and counting! Your wife sounds very cool.  There is definitely quite a bit in my profile about my love of the Red Sox.  In fact, I have a tough time relating when I have dated men that have no interest in sports.  Even if they like a different team, the fact that they can understand my passion for my team goes a long way.    I do have a few pics on there and one of them is a full length shot. I'm not opposed to meeting the 'right one' at the grocery store anywhere else but the online thing seems to broaden the possibilities a bit.  I suppose it will all work out in the end as long as I get out ther somehow.   Thank you for your post. I really do appreciate the male point of view on this.  ~Cher

Thanks Carbon. I may have been stressing too much about how I answered the question on there.  21 years is fantastic...you are fortunate to have found that someone special and...to have avoided the world of online dating sites.
