My name is Joshua, for those of you guys who haven't seen my story.  Last year i weighed close to 700 pounds, and was home bound, but since hitting rock bottom, i have lost 225 pounds on my own , while waiting for my approval for surgery.  It gets harder and harder as the days go by, to stay focussed, but man as soon as i start to slack off, boy it starts to come back really fast, i'm getting very frustrated, and i hope i will get approved soon.  I have looked for men on this site that are as big as i was, but its very hard to find anyone like i was.  It would have been nice to have a friend who was in the same boat, so we can help each other through this journey.

I only got to 408 but you are kickin butt and takin names Josh man.  Hang on in there and keep on fighting onward.  You are a warrior!  Good luck finding a buddy in the same boat, they are out here but not always so vocal or visible.  Might take a day or two for the right guy to see your post.

Congrads on a remarkable loss so far without surgery.  Thats a FART on this Board.

You've been too successsful to go back now and are past half way there.  Keep with it.

Hi Joshua.
I know how easy it is to slack off because I've lost and gained over 1000 pounds in my life.   I started off at 464 pounds as my highest and have lost 254 since surgery.  You should be commended for losing 225 without the tool though.   That's most excellent!

Good luck on your journey.   What's the latest with approval?   Are you having to go through the supervised 6-month weight loss periods with your insurance?

Hello, Thanks for all your words of encouragement, it helps me to stay focussed when i hear from people who have succeeded in this fight like yourself.  I heard from my surgeon this past friday, after trying to get a hold of them all week, and it looks like i should be ready for my surgery, but the doc needs to sign off on some things, so we'll see this week if its really true, i'll keep you guys posted, thanks again for your support.  Joshua

Hey man  Keep up the good work. You have come so far. When I started off 13 moths ago, I weighed 522. I know that I had weighed more than that before but I lost some that summer before I started my program. ( But my doctors scale did not go that high.) I am down to 450 now and will be having bypass on the 28 of the month.  These guys are great they are informative and easy to talk to. keep up the good wok scott

Hello Scott, Thanks so much for writing me.  It looks like we weigh close to the same for the moment.  I am so glad ur having ur surgery so soon, i cant wait to have mine, though i am terrified.  I have never had any kind of surgery, so we'll see how mine goes.   I am still not approved so i still have some time to get used to the idea that i have to do it, and just move on with my life.  Thanks for writing, and i'll keep you guys posted on my weightloss, and when i get appoved.  Joshua

Joshua,

You have started of well for someone as big as you were, keep it up.  The guys on here are intelligent and friendly.  Any and every question will get a response.  I have found that there is at least one, and usually many more, that have gone through everything.  The experience and knowledge here is great.  Keep coming back and you are guaranteed to learn stuff you never even knew you wanted to learn.
