Hey Guys I had Bypass sugury about 4 months ago I am down 86 pound since then and down a total of 110 pounds since I started the process. I currently work out 3-4 times a week at the gym. I weight currently 230.3 ( I weight myself everyday). I weight lift twice a week and run 3-4 times a week. I run around 4 miles a time at about 10 minutes a mile. I was wondering if I will ever be able to get a six pack? I know I have to lost about 50-60 more pounds to get down the weight were it would even show but is it possiable? Did any of you go from a Keg to a six pack? I am 25 years old if the matters.

Have you ever smoked for any length of time? If not, you're young and your skin is still elastic. I think you've got a chance if you continue to work out and eat and drink like we're supposed to. If you want a six pac then you must exercise those abdominal muscles the correct way. Get a DVD of 5 Minute Abs and go to work. Hell I'm 55 years old, never smoked and I work out pretty hard these days. I can feel them under there, but I'm still a ways away from my ideal goal. I don't think there's a six pac in my future but knowing that its "back" there will probably be good enough for me. Good luck. A year from now, take a picture of your six pac and smell up this place! I have never smoked in life and I don't have any lose skin yet but I know it is pretty hard to get a six pack.

First, Welcome to the Men's Board! Throw out any thoughts or questions And more than likely someone here has experience to share. At 25 years old? Yeh, chances are you can get there. Check out the profiles of some of these guys- A.J. P. carbonblob Cards Fan garion kypdurran NotDave (Howyadoin?) SouthJerseyChris [I hope I figured out how to make the links work...] None of them are ‘spring-chickens’ But all have embraced exercise with awesome results. These are just the first ones that come to mind, Many others… Quite a few Exercise gurus on this Board. For that ‘6-pack Abs’ look, -it has everything to do with Bodyfat Percentage. Much more so than just toning and building the muscle. Hope you find all of the info, Experience and support this bunch has to offer! Best Wishes- Dx

So there you have it. The answer is yes.  We'll be waiting for the FART when it occurs and a copy of the training video you make to sell it.

My skin came back better than expected.  I still have some loose skin around the middle but I can see the top of my six pack (4 pack I guess) and my body fat is around 8.5%.  I know I probably won't look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club any time soon, but I am very happy so far.  You definitely have youth on your side, but I believe genetics play a big role in skin elasticity.  I couldn't see any of my abs until I got under 200 pounds, but I am only 5'9". Good luck and keep up the exercise.  It sounds like you are doing everything you should.  You are only 4 months out.  After a year people won't recognize you anymore. Take care, Dwight

hey rg,

yep, Dx got it right. it's all about body fat more than anything. it also helps you're so young! he's got some great links to go to for inspiration. i have an abs photo. it's not a six pack but shows what you can do with a little exercise and diet. if you don't keep the fat down then you end up with muscles under fat. you won't see them. so if you can get your % down the more you'll see striations, veins and abs. i was really really round when i started. a 52" waist so judging by my pic, anything is possible.....lol. keep up the good work....carbonblob
