It Does Get Easier/Different, Each Week!
Yes, using the scales can make some crazy,
(Slower loss is Still Loss!)
-But-
Keeping track and forcing myself to "Watch It!"
Has been the "What works for me," for maintaining my loss.
I’ll eat, but know that I need to exercise a little bit more
If the numbers climb just a little.
That way,
I only make "Little" adjustments to my weekly routine.
If the "Scales Make You Discouraged?"
Then STAY OFF of Them!
But for those who Are weighing in-
Drum roll--------------------------------------

Hop your Azz up on the Scales!
How much have you lost?
Since Surgery?
Or in Pre-Op Diet?
And has the Scale moved this week for you?
If so, How Much?
My Starting Weight? – 385 +
All Time Low – 179
Me?-
183 Saturday Night Weight....
So, What about YOU?
(NEW GUYS AND LURKERS?
Scan back over the last months of this weekly post,
And you’ll get a fairly clear picture of the fact
that there isn’t a "Typical" progress,
Just massive, persistent, overwhelming - PROGRESS!)
Keep It Up!!!
Best Wishes-

Capricious; Impulsive, Semi-Predictable
From reading others' post-op posts (as well as my own experience), I'm beginning to think that large daily fluctuations due to fluids are normal for us ... I remember back in my younger days the medicos used to warn us that if your weight varies more than 2 lbs. within a 24-hour period to get to a doc quickly, as it is a sign something may be seriously wrong with the body (e.g. edema from congestive heart failure, etc.) . &8- O)

They told me in Pre-Op consult, that the key for a fill would be when I was feeling hunger between meals. By that definition, I passed that a few weeks ago. I was dealing with another health issue that prevented me from addressing the need for a fill. During a routine examination, a mass was detected on the right side of my Thyroid. After a fine needle aspiration,. It was determined that the best approach would be total Thyroidectomy. The Surgeon did not want me fiddling with anything that could affect my nutritional intake while he was tracking Thyroid activity prior to surgery, and the levels of the Synthroid in my system post surgery. I have now been released by the Surgeon, so I can now get back on track. I am scheduled for an adjustment Thursday afternoon. Hopefully this will aid me to break this multi-week yo-yo. Over the last 12-16 weeks I have lost the same 10 pounds several times and I know the problem is me. The last fill had my band at 6cc’s, but I have felt like it has gradually loosened up since then. It is either that, or I just am getting used to the band and need it snugged up a bit more. With that all being said, here are my results for last week.
05Oct06 389.0 - Initial Consult with
116.6# Loss overall
87.2# Loss since surgery
42.0# Loss since last band fill
well I survuved the holiday without any damage. It is amazing that I am still losing weight on weeks where my back pain limits any excercise at all. I ahve an injection on wed for my pain I hope it works. I am trying to be optimistic but.....

2 weeks ago 216 today 214 Original goal was 215, I guess I should be excited but I think I have convinced myself that it is only a number. 200 by my annniversary is now my goal. If I can get this back pain under control a little I should be able to get there JIm D
I have been eating a lot of the foods that caused me to be obese in the first place. I really need to work on self control. With that said . . .
Here's my numbers:
Starting weight, 1st consult (January 13, 2006) 339
Surgery weight (March 20, 2006): 300
Weight last week: 179
Weight this week: 180
Total lost: 159
Have a great week. Rick
