Hey Guys,
I just found this spot and am excited.
I am not scheduled for RNY yet but am hopeful for a Jan-Mar 07 date. I have 100-120 lbs. to lose. I hope that my weight loss will decrease my back and joint pain, eliminate my sleep apnea, and give me a level of energy that will help me live life like never before.
I look forward to building some friendships here.
Peace and blessings,
Mark
Welcome Mark,
You have came across the best Forum on OH. Just guys being guys. There is a great deal of information to be had here as well as support.
Prior to surgery I had all the above. No more sleep apnea, high blood pressure, gerd, sky high triglycerides, knees feel better than they have in 20 years. I have went from not hardly being able to walk around the block without pain, to 6 or 8 miles a day. This month I have walked 83 miles, I am trying to break a 100 for the month. This has been life changing for me. Like every one says, I just wish I had done it years ago. pan head

Great Job. I hope you get to that hundred mile mark. just a couple days left. Ya better get goin'
I'm about 10 months out. Had all the same problems you describe and they are all gone. Been off the blood pressure meds for about 2 months now. First time in decades. Knees feel great as well as all my other joints except my left shoulder. I injured my rotator cuff by trying to exercise like I did as a teenager. Word of caution here. Your mind will try to talk your body into doing things it may not be ready for-yet. Eat and drink right and exercise, exercise, exercise and you will have all that energy you seek. Be thinking about what you are going to do with all that energy. Remember, you won't be spending all that time eating or thinking about eating so you'll have to replace those hours with something constructive. Like someone on this forum says: If you want to change your life, you have to change your life. Welcome to the forum and may God bless your worthy endeavor.

Doug, Thanks for the encouragement and caution. I am so excited about my life change. I can't wait.
Welcome Mark. Good luck with everything. The first two things will in all likelyhood disappear. For me, the energy comes and goes but the first year I could have worked 18 hour days and had energy to spare.

Kyp,
thanks for the welcome. Your pics have inspired me. I used to do a lot of body building and seeing how fit you have become lets me see what can be done.
