It's normal for some foods like oatmeal, chili, mac and cheese and other similar soft foods to just slide through the stoma in your pouch. I've never bought into the bull**** about stretching your pouch out and the few bariatric surgery doctors I've talked to about the pouch stretching called bull**** on that too. As you get furthur and furthur out your body learns to process the food more efficiently and thus you can eat more. The first few months out of surgery your pouch is all swollen and healing which restricts the amount you can eat even more. As it 'relaxes' you can eat more and as your body learns to process the food efficiently you can eat more.
Try eating some food that will hang around in your pouch longer like chicken breast, turkey, steak, etc. It helps to not drink with meals but I rarely am able to do that anymore.
Don't beat yourself up about the stuff you ate. At least most of those foods were somewhat approved. I'm a LSU fan so you can imagine my disgust when I realized that I had finished a box of holiday Christmas butter cookies during the LSU / Arkansas game over the weekend. It was all nervous eating and I didn't notice that they were all gone until I was at the bottom of the box. We all slip up from time to time. Slipping up means you are human. It's just how you deal with the slip up that counts! In my case, my self-imposed "punishment" is to exercise 3X a day each day this week.
Hang in there!

Next time, start with some slices of meat or bird (after the water). Follow with a half a biscuit. Then eat a salad.
repeat one hour later if you get hungry (minus the water).
If you can still eat like that check the warranty on your RNY.
I suspect it's the soft nature of the foods you ate. Even chicken can be cooked until it's really soft, especially cornish game hen!

Hey Chris. I've had similar experiences to you, and I'm only 8 days ahead of you.
When I first graduated from full liquids to soft foods, I did OK. But for the last 3-4 weeks, I've had a real problem with protein. Even canned meat (which the nuts. say doesn't have to be shredded) doesn't sit too well. A few bites, and I start to get nauseous.
I'm not exactly sure what the 'foamies' are. But my symptoms are waves of nausea, and my salivary glands kick into overdrive. If it really bad, I dry heave (practically nothing comes up, 'cause there's practically nothing TO come up.) This can go on for several hours. I've gotten to the point where I don't want to even TRY to eat meat before noon, so I rely on my protein supplement. OTOH, I can down a large Wendy's chili, no problem (WAY more than the 4 oz. I'm supposed to be eating). Same thing with soup, even when it has veggies and meat in it - the same meat that, if I ate it by itself, would bring on the nausea. This post-surgery eating is DEFINITELY a learning process!

Dude... You and I are just about identical. So I would say we are good. I had 3 small pcs of chicken in my salad for dinner last night... bam... very small case of the foamies (when you can't control the amount of spit you are creating, don't swallow I spit it out as to not fill up with that liquid, as it will only come back up). The last month I have been struggling with protein as well. But every morning I have a protein bar and I eat lots of peanuts through out the day. Liquidy foods are no problem for me at all, soups, chilli and salads with out meat. I find if I drink enough water it helps everything else out as well. But the last month I have been off track with protein. I have to go for my next blood work check up soon and I know I am going to get kicked in the Jimmi's. I have been using this protien shots, 27 grams of protein in 2 onces. I just hope I am absorbing the protein. Cause I am not getting enough from meat products. This I can tell by my loss of muscle strength already. Plus my GF says I need to start hitting this gym, as I am starting to look "thin" in my arms, leggs and neck. I think she just not use to seeing the new me yet.
