Woot!!! How 's it going guys? I had my surgery on the 12th and am feeling great! I've had no complications (thank god) and actually feel like I never had the surgery. Thanks to all of you out there who gave me my inspiration and who prayed for me. Well, having said that...anyone have any puree recipes for me? Well, thx in advance. Rusty

Congrats and welcome to the losers bench!  Glad all went so well.  I don't have a lot of stuff for Pureed stage.  Was not my favorite.  I ate scrambled eggs with a touch of low fat cheese.  That went down pretty well.  I ate some baby food (stage 1 stuff (beef, chicken, turkey).  They got old fast.  I had some tuna salad (basically mayo and tuna pureed in a blender).

I'm sure you'll get better suggestions from some of the other guys.  If I get a chance later at home I'll take a look at the book my nutriionist gave us and see what else was there.

Continued great luck!!!

Hey Rusty,

Some of the other things for Puree are small curd low fat cottage cheese, no suger added yogurt, protein shakes, no suger added applesauce, low fat ricotta cheese,.  smooth oatmeal (can add protein powder if you need more) Of course the sf ice pops. Sorry I don't have a bigger selection.   Brian

Rusty,

While in the puree phase I had red pepper hummus on a couple of ritz crackers - recommended by my nutritionist. It was a real treat. 2 crackers with hummus would fill me up.

Glad it went well!  The first 2 months were the hardest as far as food is concerned. Getting to know your new body and how it reacts to food is an interesting stage to say the least. Your pouch will do what I called flip-flops everytime food hits it for awhile, but I promise that'll go away. In the beginning you may feel like you can eat alot more than you're suppose to, but try not to do it!  Your "head hunger" and past practices will tempt you to eat more than you should, and remember that you'll not know what the feeling of "full" is for a couple of months out at least. You have to measure your food and trust that it's enough. Once the head hunger subsides, then it gets much easier.
