I'm almost home
I sent last night in the hotel attached to the hospital and I'm going to go home later today.
I had my RNY surgery on the 13th and everything went well. The surgery took 4 hours because my part of my bowels were backwards and full of adhesion's that needed to be cut. My surgeon said mine was one of the hardest ones he's done laparoscopically. Losing 40lbs from my first surgeon's appointment to the surgery was more than worth it being able to have this operation laparoscopically will make a huge difference in my recovery.
The pain wasn't as bad as expected. Yes right after the surgery it was an 8 or 9 but I've been in little pain since and I've had my pain medication lowered to almost nothing.
The only problem I had was that I had trouble urinating after the surgery and I had to be catheterized twice but I finally went on my own and they discharged me last night.
So now begins my routine of sip sip sip walk walk walk.
Jonathan, Get what rest you can. Know that these first weeks suk for most everyone, But keep the doc on speed-dial if fever of pain feels new or unique. Hollar out if there’s anything we can help with! Best Wishes- Dx
