Almost there, I can see the start/finish line
I went down for my first appointment with the surgeon last week.
I knew that their program was going to ask for at least a 10% weight loss prior to surgery.
Well I buckled down and i lost 20% before my meeting with him. It's a good thing I did too, because he said that the 10% is only a base guideline, some times they ask for more, and I was going to be asked for more.
When he saw my weight loss, he walked me over to his secretary and scheduled my psych and followup appointments.
I get to go back on Dec 4th to have another 5 hour class and to speek with the case manager. The case manager is supposed to give me my surgery date at that meeting.
Now i'm excited and scared holly crap.

Big Congrads on enduring the start foft he journey.
Now the hard part is out of the way.
Lets ee,...only the doubting your decision stage, friends and family telling you to reconsider stage, what if I die during surgery stage, and what do I get to be ready after I get home stage.
Then you'll be home and in no time it will be a year and you will be a babe magnet.
Piece of cake!!

Yeah I have already had the what if I die thoughts.
I have gotten the strange looks from friends and family who just don't understand what it's like and how it has been all my life to be the fat kid. I don' t think they understand my choice and the changes/chances I will be making.
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm looking forward to that 1 year part already. I don't think the wife will like the babe magnet part, but I wouldn't mind getting some looks. haha

My doc requires the liquid diet for a couple of weeks prior to the surgery. I weigh 350 right now, he wants me to lose about 20 lbs in a couple of weeks prior to the surgery. I will be basically going on the post surgery diet 2 weeks prior. I guess Carnation Instant Breakfast will be my buddy. And lots of water. I really feel I will be able to do the 20 lbs without a problem. I just am not looking forward to the 2 weeks. I feel the liquid diet after the surgery is easier, because you simply can't eat anything else. Before is a different story.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
