Thanksgiving Dessert Ideas??????
Hey Guys,
I'm eight months out and this is my first Post-Surgery Thanksgiving. I'm not that worried about the dinner - I'll just eat turkey, veggies, and a little bit of some of the other yummy things. But, I'd like to make a dessert. I was thinking about a bannana cream pie (make SF pudding with Skim Milk, and use SF/FF cool whip, real bannanas) - but, not sure what to do for a crust.
Any ideas for a pie crust - of other dessert ideas? Nothing too fancy though.................
Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions,
Chuck
since you mentioned testing...
have you tried bananas yet? an average banana has something like 26g carbs... 21 of which are sugars.
I'm just thinking it would be totally crappy way to end your family festivities by being out of commission for a while if bananas are a trigger food for you.
A good friend of my wife dumps regularly from bananas, but not other fruits that I thought had higher sugar contents... she's OK with oranges, grapes and apples, but bananas always give her trouble. They never bothered her pre-op, so it's unlikely an allergic reaction. SHE says it's dumping.
One thought- Murray® Sugar Free Vanilla Wafers. I make SF Banana pudding with them for my Diabetic Brother-in-law And it’s great stuff that I tolerate as well. If “cream-pie” format, then make same as graham cracker crust, Just crunch then into a “meal” and spritz with a little water to or mix in some Fleishmans margarine made with 100% Olive oil. great for you and tastes awesome. Best Wishes- Dx
