Getting men to this forum...
Could someone post on the Main Board with a link to the Mens Forum. I don't know how. I know there are alot of men who may feel uncomfortable on the Main or their state forum. Many men don't know we're here. I just don't know how to create a link to this site. Doing an occasional link would be good. I know Dx will sometimes do it, but we know how busy he gets. Also Microsoft XP seems to take up alot of the screen and people may not be able to find the "more forums" link. Thanks whoever...Brian
That's a great idea! This is such a massive site, I've been browsing for over two years now and still haven't visited all areas.
I was really happy to find the men's forum. The other boards are dominated by women and, well, it can get a little overwhelming sometimes hearing about all the "girl stuff" they talk about. It also made me feel better about choosing the surgery. I originally thought that very few men had the surgery. I have learned through this site and through my preop visits that that's not really the case.
UPDATE: I've posted link on NC's Message Board.
well, actually ................... I recently posted on this subject here and on the main board .. Turns out only about 13% of WLS patients are male .. and if you have ever been to a post-op support group(particularly the social type), there's a good chance you'll look around see you are the only male there .. (as I usually do) .. many persons opined on why this was so, in reply posts ..
