Colds & Flu

I have a sore throat and other symptons of a cold coming on, what do you all take? My wife gave me Tussin chest congestion syrup & chloraseptic for the throat, anything else. Thanks, BobM.

I don't know, but after surgery, you definitely have to be careful not to take anything that contains aspirin or other NSAIDs, unless you are taking the necessary antacid medication (sorry not familiar with the antacids).

I think some cold meds have asprin and NSAIDs, but not sure. Might be good to check, especially after 11 surgeries.

Tylenol Cold is what I typically use Bob and I've also used Nyquil post-op as well.  Keep in mind though that I was fully healed when I've taken these OTC's.  To be on the safe side, I'd suggest calling your Surgeon or Doctor's in charge of your care the past several weeks to check on this.  Given all you've been through and the fistulas you're dealing with you should take every precaution.  When in doubt ask them....even when you're not in doubt, ask them! I would take your wife and give her a big ole hug and do whatever she offered cause I bet she and youe surgeon are on a firstname basis after the last couple of months and she sure does try to take good care of you.  You got a keeper there Bob! For the record, I use the generic nyquill and a nose spray. Keep on healing there not-so-big-guy anymore.  :-)
