Is it weird to be worried about this?

I'm having surgery a week from today and I'm worried that the surgery will be cancelled because some of the many test results didn't get sent to the surgeon's office. Is it weird that I'm getting a little paranoid that something will to wrong that will prevent my surgery?

Worry about what you can control and not about what you cannot. The surgeon's office wil contact you if there are any issues and get them corrected. You worry about the liver shrinking diet and walking and breathing exercises and whatever the surgeon told you to do to prepare and the rest will take care of itself.  I spent a lot of time on the OH.com men's board and VA Board reading profiles and looking at before and after pictures.  It helped motivate me that I could be one of those success stories too.  I am now 14 months post op and 185 lbs lighter.  It goes by fast and yours will too.  It is a very exciting journey.  Prepare for an exciting ride. You should also go through the pre-op is this really the right thing to do phase (it is) and the friends and/or family trying to talk you out of this life threatening surgery phase.  They haven't done the research and soul searching you have.  Push forward, you will never regret it.

HI Jonathan I am also 7 days out.  I am like you but for other reasons worried about being cancelled.  I have everything done and ready but I have one more appointment with the Urolgist and he might hold me up they think I might have a blader infection.  I don't what to wait one more day I just want to get this done and finished.  Well good luck and hope all goes well and you have you surgery next week hope to read next week on how well you are doing.  Take good care have God be with you.

Ditto to Joe! The “Pre-Op Jitters” Worrying about everything, Is as common as deep navels out here! Keep your ducks in a row, and focus on what you have control over. Maybe fax requests to double check with your status of the tests. Have the greatest next week! Best Wishes- Dx

I called my surgeon's office and they are going to call me back tomorrow to let me know if they are still waiting on any results.  If something is missing it won't be too much of a problem to fix.  I'm not worried about this anymore. The funniest comment from family trying to dissuade me from the surgery, "You are doing so well on the liquid diet.  Why don't you just stay on that instead of the surgery"

he he he, I had pre-op on Monday. I told Doc, 1) Get a good nights sleep, get up take refreshing shower and have a cup of coffee, but just ONE. (Don't need the jitters) 2) I don't want to hear ANYTHING about a delay or problem. I will be there Friday and I am bringing a knife with me, so either you cut me or..... He laughed and assured me he would be rested and ready to go bright and early Friday morning.
