Ok, so I read a post referring to this yesterday and after a little research I found a website describing it. (http://www.5daypouchtest.com)

I have found myself being able to eat more and More and MORE over the last 6 months or so. I still can't eat when I did pre-op but I can probably eat close to 50% - 60% though.

Has any done this and did you acheive any results in doing so? I started it today and am curious if anyone had any results with it.

No experience with the pouch test but I am going through a transistion period between lost losing since July 9 (but bouncing around from 236 to 224).  My ability to eat more pre sitting has increased and I am having to make a concesus effort to not go there.  I am also getting off foods I thogut were helping but have come to realize I was getting in way too many carbs (oatmeal squares and Lance PB crackers, too many bananas).  I am also trying to taper back my protein bar dependency and replace it with smarter meat and other organic protein sources without overdoing the calories, carbs and fat.  I haven't found my sweet spot or a good routine yet.  But protein powder fruit smoothies and slim fast low-carb are still on the menu.   I guess this is the real test to see what I've learned and how committed I am to right choices after the first year of relearning  how to eat. Good luck with that pouch testing thing.

I didnt' do it.....I dont' have a pouch....but I have watched lots of women do it on the WLS graduate forum.....they swear by it.  Apparently after a couple of days of it...your restriction (in terms of eating) increases...and in some people it resets their dumping mechanism...so that they dump easier.....like they did when they were new post ops.    The initial loss seems promising ...although the 2nd week for most people doesn't seem to yeild a great weight loss...probably the body adjusting ot the lower caloric intake (my opinion not medical fact). I hope it works for you.......Good luck. Scott

Or you could do it the Carbon Blob, Dave in Japan way:

All protein shakes for the first three months

And we loved it!

I did the test... It really wasn't that bad...  I found that I got fuller quicker..and that it helped me to realize that I can control my eating..and my wilpower..  I didnt lose the weight that I had hoped...like others...but I did okay.  It isn't that bad...
