Half the man I use to be

Well as of today I am half the man I use to be, it is not often a person can say that and it is a good thing. This morning I weighed 272 pounds and that is 272 pounds lost since my surgery date. I never in my wildest dreams ever would of thought that in just 9 days short of 1 year from my surgery date I could of lost this much weight this fast. Back when my doctor told me he could see me getting down to 250 pounds I thought he was crazy. Well as time went on I thought that yes maybe in time I could reach that goal, and now I am sure of it, as a matter of fact I am thinking about resetting my goal. I first thought about resetting it at 200 pounds (with the help of my skin removal surgery) but I am going to shoot for 199 pounds so I can reach my ultimate goal of dropping below the 200 pound mark. But even if I don’t reach that goal I am so happy that I have done what I have so far. Even if I don’t lose another pound I will be happy, because not only have I lost weight, I have regained my life back again I am in the best physical condition I have been in since my high school days. Awesome stuff, man.  At least for my height (6'0"), the difference in quality of life between ~270 and anything over 350 is huge.  There's still more QOL yet to be gained between 272 and 200, but it's nothing like the difference between 544 and 272.  For the most part, 272 to 200 means "doing X is now much easier", whereas 272 from 544+ is more about "doing X is now possible." I wouldn't call it a "goal," but losing half my starting weight (meaning, 187.5) would be an interesting watershed.  But as an adult I've probably never even been as thin as I am right now (I've weighed less, but my waist is smaller than since junior high), so every day is new territory, as I suspect it is for you. You've had an incredible year, congrats.
