I also posted this in the insurance forum but figured since it isnt a place I regulary visit a lot of you might not visit there often either. I have been on my wifes insurance for the past 4 years. UHC with a written exclusion. At the begining of this year I got on my employers plan. BC of ca had my surgery on 9/24. Have had a stricture and spend a few nights in the hospital since. I have kept my wifes insurance the whole time. As of January 1 I would like to drop my insurance and just keep her insurance. My plan coverage is dropping from 100% in network to 80%. Her plan is 100%. Her plan is cheaper. And honestly except for the wls exclusion her plan has been wonderful.  How will complications be handled if I drop my plan? Will they be excluded because they were a result of WLS? Or will they be covered because I have been continually insured? What about my current stricture they tell me I may need more dialations.  Or what if the worst case happens and I need a revision? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jon

Best to ask an insurance agent about this as they know the policies better than any of us here i would think. A lot of companies won't cover prior conditions. WLS complications may be one, but consult with an agent to get the low down on what and what not is covered. Jer
