Friends,  I eat so little, a tablespoon of protein, chicken, loin, roast beef and that's it, is this normal???  I'm at stage 5, but only 3 weeks out of a 6 week nap.  I also find it hard to get my protein in, slimfast low carb shakes and Isopure to sip on all day, 1/5 of it lost through the fiscular, hardly no water because of all the protein drinks, normal? Any and all responses be appreciated.   Love Bob.

DX, I don't know how to PM.

Bob I don't know any of the answers to your questions but I'm so glad to see you posting again.  You had a lot of us worried.  We waited for post on how you were doing. Our prayers are still with you and your family.  Again it is so good to hear from you. Randy

Bob!

So glad to see you back! I thought we'd lost you there for a while.

Weight loss was good, I take it?

Hard times, I'm sure. But glad you made it out okay.!

Hey there old boy! You gave us quite a scare,...probably didn't didn't do you or your wife any good either. 1.  You are alive and taking in nourishment on your own again.  2.  It is truly amazing how little food it take to sustain life, isn't it.  Good you are noticing.  remeber that Lession 1 as you get farther out and mental hunger tries to creep back into having you think you want/need more food than you really truly do.  The Mind and mental eating rituals need healing as much as the physical body needs recovery.  A real awakening to reality. 3.  Sounds like you are on schedule. Personally I am amazed you are taking in as much as your are with all you've been through.  You are a breathing miracle.  The next three months will be a eating relearning period. Listen to your body and don't push the envelope.  Keep focused on protien and water.  Everything else is secondary and can be covered with vitamins and supplements.  Don't take in too much too fast; the repercussions are NOT worth the barfing, foaming, and ill feelings that follow. 4.  Protein drinks are liquid and count toward the 64 oz quota, protein drinks plus 64 oz of waer will come later.  You are doing great.  Glad to have you back.

Bob,

Great to see you back. I missed your posts. I hope you received the teddy bear I sent along as a surrogate friendly presence.   Your eating experiences are very similar to mine. Initially I could just handle a few spoonfuls of chicken salad or egg salad. My head hunger eventually lead me to eat more at times, but a few spoonfuls was all I need. I enjoyed the shakes the most, because it brought a lot of protein, without much stomach upsetting. Herb

Hello Bob, It is wonderful to see you back on the board. We were all worried about you and pulling for you. The responses to your "I'm home" post are just the tip of the iceberg of care and concern that have been expressed while you were away. I agree with the others that what you're eating is pretty much "normal" for just getting home. Also, do your best to add water--that is, don't rely on the protein drinks as your sole source of fluids. If you can't get much in, try for small increases every few days. Hang in there, friend. Best to you and your family.

Doug
