Dx,

Those were great! Wondering if you've got any more good poetic language about the post-op experience? I'd really love to see some more.

Best Wishes,

Dave

"How can I ever face my fellow men? How can I ever face myself again? My soul belongs to God, I know I made that bargain long ago He gave me hope when hope was gone He gave me strength to journey on Who am I? Who am I? I am Chuck Val Chuck!!!!!" Didn't know you were also a theatre nut like me...........    We could keep this up for DAYS and DAYS and DAYS............ LOL. "He trod a path that few have trod did Sweeney Todd the demon barber of fleet street." I just saw Sweeney Todd in Park City last week - that's the only lyric I can think of that comes close to the topic we're talking about LOL.    At 547 pounds I had to stop going to the Theatre because my ASS was too big for the seats, but I've been going to the theatre a lot since August, and enjoying every minute of it.   SLC has several B'way touring companies come through, and some of the local productions are pretty decent quality (and, this is coming from a theatre snob who lived in NYC for years LOL). And, let's close with a line from Alladin, singing "A whole New World......." "A whole new world Don't you dare close your eyes A hundred thousand things to see Hold your breath - it gets better I'm like a shooting star I've come so far I can't go back to where I used to be" Thanks again Dx....    Chuck

Amazing, Chuck!

Sounds like there's a little difficulty there, but with all of the benefits I think you'll sort things out.

That's a crazy fast loss and I know you feel wonderful. Congrats,

Dave

Thanks Dave, Things are definitely getting sorted out......   And, I was fooling myself to think that I wouldn't face some hurdles along the way.   It was just time for a reality check, and to start dealing with some of the psychological changes taking place along with the rapid physical ones. And, it's strange - because everyone around me sees su*****redible physical changes, and increase in energy and mood, etc and just ASSUME that EVERYTHING is going great.   But, the free time was piling up  (since I have so much more energy now), I didn't want to just come home and sit on my Ass until bedtime.   So, I've had to actively plan and schedule things to take up that extra time.    Anyway, thanks for the reply Dave, I appreciate the support. Concerning therapy, I went about 7-8 years ago for a few sessions.  This guy was very good.  He was a cross between Gestalt Therapy and a high school guidance counselor.  He asked me what would I like to do?  Is it realistic?  What are the steps you need to do to get there?  He stressed not dwelling on the past to much, but to be looking forward (stressing we all have alot of baggage we are dealing with).  I said "but I'm disfunctional!!"  He said "Yeh, everyone is disfunctional...The Clevers are disfunctional!!"  Chuck you may need to look at the baggage, but try not to live to much in the past (find the ballance).  I don't want to be over simplistic.  Yet a century ago people would live simple, quiet, joy filled lives without all the tech crap and information that we now clutter our beings with. The play is open before you.  You have an open set...Like Side by Side by Sondheim  (had to get that obscure reference in for DX).  Seize the day...Brian
