why am I doing this?

Well I just got shot down today, went to see the plastic surgeon about some skin removal so that I can have my very large hernia repaired (went at the request of bypass surgeon and PCP) and was told to lose at least 50 more pounds. I mean that I'm 14 months out and have lost 340 pound already what more do they need from me?I have worked very hard my wife has taken care of me I almost died three different times, I'm just ready to get back to a somewhat normal life! sorry about the rant I'm just about at my end!!!

Flopeye, I would check around for a different plastic surgeon and get a second opinion.  Don't get discouraged.  All things happen for a reason.  Best of luck, MLF

I say go for a 2nd opinion.   the reasons they may ask you to wait is that  your still losing and the results will be compromised if you lose more then 20 lbs....but since you have a hernia..the almost negates that fact.   Many on the forums have had PS earlier then "the ideal" time because they had hernias that were bothering them. I was at 3 years out before I had mine. My PS wouldn't touch anyone Who hadn't been at the same stable weight for over 9 months. As Crappy as it sounds, "Hang in there." Maybe get a second opinion Particularly regarding the Hernia repair. Best Wishes- Dx
