Need Advice

Hey guys, what is going on from ANTARCTICA. Ok this is going to sound off the wall but as we know (Or you do now...lol) I love adventures. Now my redeploy date back to the states is set for roughly Feb 22nd 2008 back to New Zealand. I am wanting to travel. However, I am torn where to go. My ultimate goal is to climb Mt Everest and there is a trek that goes up to Advanced Base Camp and even camp 1 or 2 if you are up to it for roughly 6K and I get some heavy travel discounts from Raytheon and can probably get to Nepal for roughly 1000 dollars instead of like 3K from back in the states. However, this would mean I'd miss the police officer test and have to reschedule it and probably have to quit my job or take PTO (if they will let me) which I am fine with. What do you guys think I should? What advice do any of you have? Thanks and keep watching for pics!!!

If you have no wife or kids, GO FOR IT. being responsible can wait for later in life. Enjoy your freedom while you can. If you have a wife and/or kids then take the test and get the career going in the right diretion. You have a obligation to to them.

Nope, no wife or kids. Just me. Not even a girlfriend because I am in Antarctica...HAHA....=).....I was thinking the same thing, my only problem is, the police academy is starting in July but it is a 12 week application process and if I want to get in I'd have to do it in March. I am also planning on quiting my job at Wachovia now and all. Any insight on that?

Same advice here…. No family to provide for? Run Wild! Build up Experiences that make you the most Unique You imaginable. Become an expert at what ever makes you the happiest. I say climb everest!!!!!  If you ahve the money and no kids or wife...then HECK ...GO FOR IT!!!! OK now i'm jealous...lol. Scott
